At this point in time all 3 teams at the top of the championship have 87 points. The fourth team is 10 points behind 3rd having played one less game but potentially 10 points behind 4th place.
It seems very unfair to me that the 3rd placed team has to play all those extra matches and possibly(?) not go to the Premiership EVEN though they have accrued all those points. (Ok they will probably be successful in beating the teams below them and get promoted but it doesn't necessarily follow).
If there were playoffs to get relegated from the premiership and Villa didn't go down because of their possible fortunate play, we'd all be up in arms but I just think the play offs to come up are not really fair. A total number of points more than anyone else should be the criteria over the length of the season.
