So. Does anyone actually use one and if so what are the best apps?

A few around me all have them, I don't, but one of the Guys has announced this week he's selling his as he's become tethered to it and he realised he's forever looking at it when it pings even in social times/events., in other words he thinks he's become addicted to it, but it isn't helping him run his day.
