Antidote to Eurovision

Root out your old DVD's - The Who at Glastonbury 2007 - It's absolutely pissing down and Townsend, Daltry and co are playing out of their skins.

For the first time in many years, I actually sat through the whole show and kind of enjoyed it in a weird masochistic way ... until the voting started.

Now the UK entry wasn't brilliant as was no where near the best song but it certainly wasn't the worst either.
I'm aware that voting for a song is subjective but this does seem to be quite politically motivated.

It's called the Eurovision Song Contest, but if it's not really a genuine contest and the UK has absolutely no chance of winning, then it ceases to become a contest in my eyes.

Maybe as with the EU, it's become time to take our ball home (and our funding)
As one of the 'big five' contributors, I'm sure the others will not paying a bit extra.

Maybe if we had a few big names entering instead of unkowns

We don’t deserve to win the contest as we never have the best song. Yes there’s political voting which accounts for a bit of the votes but this isn’t the reason why we languish towards the bottom of the votes. At least we have a voting contest to select our song - we had some dreadful entries before that.

I don’t get the popularity for Israel’s song.

Sorry, there is no antidote to Eurovision. Once you have sat and watched the whole program, you need to be committed for life.
I was lucky. I saw an opening song. Terry Wogan might have been the compare, building the song to be so great. I think I heard the first verse, then the program, and Terry Wogan were both blacklisted by me for ever on!
