Is this a competition..........How to Insult like an 8 Yr old?

Martinez, you started it..... How about acting like someone a little older, and finishing it?

Not every response needs to end with "you insert insult here"

Jeez man... if you think this is bad, you ought to see the "Championship Banter" group on Facebook. The average "conversation" on there would make the above argument look like a civil and polite discussion. Most of the members of that group are insufferable, arrogant Leeds fans who think that the Championship, and the entire footballing world for that matter, revolves around Leeds United. I simply stated that I didn't particularly like Elland Road as a ground, and was swarmed lol. Tbf there may have been a little baiting involved on my part ;):fish:.

dont think there will be any cash

Darren Royle has said there will be cash to spend, including the money we got for Grigg. We had 3 or 4 million pound plus bids for players turned down in January, probably because players were unsure where we will end up.

Different scenario in the summer. Get about 6/7 new players in, including a couple more 'Reece James' type loans and 4 quality monetary signings and it will make a big difference.

I don't think it's bad Will........ just unnecessary ....... and tiresome.

Just because a poster disagrees with another doesnt mean they need to finish off with petty name calling.

Attacking posts is fine......... attacking posters? Why?
?

Agreed, but it happens because the post is very often linked to the poster. What I mean by this is that, if I make a post predicting that we'll lose our next game, that is probably due to my tendency and nature to be a little excessively pessimistic about things at times. Therefore, when someone attacks my post, they in turn feel the need to attack my personality, which has led me to write such a post. If that makes sense.

But that's where a little self discipline comes in Will.........from both parties. There's no need for the responder to finish with an insult...... and in return, there would be no need for the OP to hurl an insult in retaliation.

Unfortunately, some folk just can't help 'emselves.

Yeah I know, but this is the world of social media, and people recognise that they can voice insults without consequence. I agree with the sentiment though.

On another thread, I and a number of other posters were labelled "snowflakes" for asserting that our team lacked fight, in retaliation to a "clapper" taunt for those that posed a different view on this subject. I don't understand why we have to generate divisions, and create an "us v them" situation, simply because we have different opinions on a particular issue. Surely a variety of alternative interpretations, and personalities, should be celebrated and promoted, as opposed to being disparaged and discouraged? Everyone on here should be united by the fact that we all support the same team, whereas the use of insults instigates a sense of disunity and detachment, and thereby perpetuates the internal divisions which go against football's very purpose of bringing people together.

It'll keep happening, though.

The thing is Will, the inherent Wiggin trait of taking a miserable outlook will always prevail ........... especially as (in the end), "failure" has a decent chance of being the outcome.

Take all the calls to get rid of the Manager, stating cases of other teams, where that move worked. Cases where it didn't work however are ignored ......... just like the fact that it didn't work the last two times we were in this position.

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. There'd have been referees who wouldn't have given us that penalty on Saturday. There'd have been linesmen who didn't flag for offside on Clark. Fine margins.

Any road, if you're getting called a name, on a forum, by a middle aged bloke (Exiled wouldn't do such a thing !) then I reckon you're the winner.
;)

Your dreaming if you think there is any money

John, for what reason do you think IEC have purchased WAFC?

I can understand if you doubt that they will be putting in massive (Bournemouth, Wolves, Brighton) levels of funding for investment, but surely you acknowledge that they must have bought the club for the long term?

If not, presumably you think they want to asset strip the club .......... for what ? Hotels? Casinos? In WN5?

I'm sure - in fact, I hope - they'll be sensible with the money they spend. After all, we don't want to end up like our Horwich neighbours.

We've always been a very well-run club in that we haven't overspent. This has inhibited our progression at times, but long may it continue. It's better to be a Championship/League 1 club than to have a few years of 'glory' i.e. mid-table mediocrity in the PL and then have no team to support a few years later due to overspending. Bolton are a prime example of the latter description.

Bolton will be here for years

Being honnest i cant see why they bought us Think if we go down we will be in big trouble
They have realy not put a lot in so far and not much sign as yet as there investment in the youth set up But like i say every one to there own thoughts and time will tell

Bloody hell John, "not put a lot in so far"?! ......... they've hardly had chance to.

As for investment in youth (who aren't doing too badly by the way), just what exactly would you have liked or expected?

I just don't see how you can say that there'll be no money, but then can't explain why you think they've bought us.

Personally, I don't think you need to invest a lot of money to do well at Championship level. Look at Sheffield United and Bristol City; they haven't spent much on their squads at all, and yet are both currently occupying the play-off positions. Cardiff's squad last year was far from being the second-best in the division (contentiously, none of their players made it into the 'Team of the Season' for that campaign), and yet they won automatic promotion. The year beforehand, Huddersfield were tipped for relegation based on their squad, but through acquiring successful loans and a shrewd boss in Wagner, they also managed to win promotion.

On the contrary, Nottingham Forest, who spent around 60 million in the summer, have had to settle for mid-table mediocrity this season. Stoke have one of the best and most valuable squads in the league on paper, with a PL quality goalkeeper in Butland, and players that are probably on very high wages, yet they are occupying the lower end of mid-table.

I think that, although substantial spending does help, you can do quite well in this league simply by having an astute manager e.g. Wilder, Johnstone, Warnock, Wagner, etc, who knows how to get the best out of a more limited set of players, as well as having a good recruitment team.
