Ange Postecoglou sacked, where next?

Said without prejudice, but Dyche only won 18 premier league games whilst in charge of Everton. from 30/01/23 to 09/01/25 and lost 31.

So over his tenure at Everton he played 74, won 18 and lost 31.
Ange, over his tenure at Spurs played 76, won 31 and lost 34.
Watch an interview with him about it. He was told no money and we need to stay up. He did what they wanted under huge restrictions and point deductions

West Ham looked terrible and the fans were very critical of Nuno,s team selection , no out and out striker and both Full backs playing out of position with their defence looking worst than ours currently.
At the final whistle the boos rang out very loud and to be honest they could have easily conceded five or six if it wasn’t for the keeper having a man of the match performance

West Han and Forest have the same problem.
Recruitment has been at a disconnect from managerial/playing style, and overall squad strength/need.

Nuno gets what he deserves, generating his own dismissal.
Ange gets what he deserves, not good enough.

Forest recruitment team and strategists ... you lost a golden opportunity to make the club better this summer, and deserve all the sh*t you get for the job you did. .

Points deductions has nothing to do with wins/losses.
It actually can have something to do with it but it would only strengthen your argument. I seem to remember Everton going on a decent run when they received the deduction. It seemed to galvanise them.

Ok let’s break it down …. Tell me how Nuno is better…bearing in mind both achieved pretty much the same ,? Silva has similar record to dyche as well?

It’s a case of forest fans just spouting useless paper bollox

We all knew ange was a huge risk and his attitude proved to totally wrong with players and fans
What has Silva got to do with anything? I just feel that we will be having another "next forest manager" thread sooner rather than later with Dyche being appointed. Another pay out looming.

I dont doubt Dyche will keep us up but is that enough? Not for the fans and certainly not for Marinakis. Not after last season. Theres a reason why the owner keeps pumping money in, a reason why he hired Edu and hes very open about wanting more success and trophies. I hope Dyche can bring that, hope theres more strings to his bow than the evidence suggests.

I like Dyche and wish him well but i just think hes the wrong guy long term and Im not sure we are at short term panic stations just.

IF Dyche does actually have more about him than just the dogs of war football we could be onto a good thing with the forest connections. Im just not convinced......yet

Zero chance there will be anything other than oopandattum tub thumping dino hoofball.

Sure we'll earn enough points to scrape 16th/17th, but he'll be out-thought and tactically out-manoeuvred by all of our remaining opponents in the EL.

Murillo, Anderson, MGW, McAtee, Ndoye, CHO, Jesus, Milenkovic, Luiz and Aina will demand transfers away from our PaleoBall and good ol' Dychey will be firefighting a relegation battle season 2026/2027.

Back on line after a couple of weeks break.
It looks like most of the toxicity has died away.
Dyche wouldn't have been my choice - but given the options - it is probably the right short term option - it is up to him if it becomes longer than that.
He should certainly have the benefit of knowing the club and will be welcomed by the fans.
This is a great opportunity for him to prove that he is more than a 'dogs of war' type manager.
He also has the benefit of having watched us regularly over the last couple of years and will know the strengths and weaknesses of most of the squad - with the exception of some of the new additions.
He should be able to analyse the squad quickly and objectively.
We have quality right through the squad - we need to get our really good defenders defending properly again and get the chance conversion rate up to something like normal.
The biggest thing for me will be an injection of confidence - there are a lot of positives really isn't that much wrong.
As always - he will have my full support.

Points deductions has nothing to do with wins/losses.
Don't you think so?
If you look back at our situation - the players were playing under extreme pressure due to the impending points deduction - it definitely had an effect on performances - which directly relates to results

I think that’s a fair comment Apocalypse and most of us would share the same concerns. The podcast with Dyche was actually quite revealing and he made comments along the lines of “Football being on the cusp of a change” in regards to tactics and systems, with a swing back to more direct football.

I’m sure I can’t be alone when I say this but possession for possessions sake, passing back and forth between the backline and again in the final 3rd bores me senseless and on the flip side, as effective as it proved to be for a large part of last season, winning games with a possession % in the 30 somethings is not a recipe for sustained success either. Direct football doesn’t have to be agricultural and unpleasant on the eye and hopefully Dyche will have the players at his disposal to fashion an effective mix of both.

It'll be a hoofball/bypass the midfield boot-a-thon, mate.

I agree from a management perspective - but you couldn't be more wrong in regard to player recruitment.
We have arguably the best squad we have ever had - brimming with quality, pace, youth and experience. We need to get the manager right now. Hopefully (I am not convinced) we have now addressed this. Dyche will definitely stabilize the club and keep us up - whether he can take us to the next level only time will tell.

I think the disconnect bit gets over played.

Its a managers job to get the best out of the resources at his disposal; attempting to radically change things in a short space of time will only end one way.

The old maxim of evolution not revolution has never been more apt than in football.

Judging Nuno on the basis of a few games is ridiculously foolhardy and the people who post on here should be more aware of that than most.

He will take his time and get West Ham playing the way he wants and will not be hurried; the modus operandi will be exactly the same as it was here.

Ange could and should have learnt a big lesson from that.

As mentioned in a differnt post. I have have had a couple of weeks break from the forum due to the toxicity on here.
It was genuinely depressing on here.
Back on line today - I can see some things haven't changed -
Bless you Blackgold - I can can always rely on you for a different perspective.

He also said that he had to use players he didn’t want to and try to get them playing well so that they could be sold.

It actually can have something to do with it but it would only strengthen your argument. I seem to remember Everton going on a decent run when they received the deduction. It seemed to galvanise them.
The first one yes but the second one not so much. Dyche has said as much himself.
