I went down to the ground at lunch to get a ticket for Saturday's match and on my way back to the car, I saw a couple of men aged around 70 I would guess, stood chatting next to Jimmy and Jack's statue. I had my boys with me and had just bought them a scarf each so they could see that I was a Notts fan.
One of them called me over and said, 'What are the chances of this? I'm a Plymouth fan living up here and this man's dad managed both of our clubs. I asked the other man who his dad was and he said it was Andy Beattie. He's certainly a name I had heard of and I was sure that he had managed on both sides of the Trent. Wasn't he our manager not long before Jimmy first arrived?
Does anyone have any memories of him?
