agreement in principle to join English club – Ibrox Sources
Rangers goalkeeper Jak Alnwick has an agreement in principle to sign for Blackpool, Football Insider has learned.
The goalkeeper had been on course for a permanent move to his loan club in January before suffering a broken arm last Boxing Day.
Sources have told Football Insider that Blackpool have held talks with Alnwick about a pre-contract agreement that would see him join in the summer.
An agreement has been reached in principle for the 26-year-old to sign for the League One outfit.
However, a deal has not been finalised because of the uncertainty surrounding football as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
The majority of Football League clubs are holding off on transfer and contract negotiations while they await the outcome of talks tomorrow on resuming the current campaign.
Alnwick is working his way back from the injury that was originally estimated to require a three-month rehabilitation period.
In the meantime his future is up in the air, especially with Rangers having decided not to offer him an extension to his contract.
At Ibrox, Allan McGregor is the undisputed first choice, with Wes Foderingham his number two for the last two seasons.
