All Power To Lincolnshire...

It would be great if the corrosion problems connected to tidal power infrastructure could be overcome. As well as wind we have a lot of tide in Lincs.

On the subject of renewables, anybody know why The Sahara (or other deserts for that matter) isn't the worlds biggest solar panel zone - cost, corruption, security issues, unstable political regimes in the area?

For the Sahara see below..

For others read up on the Mojave desert installations for instance

Thanks Sincilbanks that was an interesting read. I hadn't realised The Sahara was one of the windiest spots on earth (near The Atlantic) so could double up on wind energy as well.

The usual 'suspects' were there under obstacles but at least there don't appear to be any major technological/scientific reasons why it can't be done.

Once we can reliably store renewable energy (and there's a lot of work being done on that right now), it will be a game-changer.

When i saw the thread title i though our enigmatic midfielder was coming back!
.... or the Sunderland player Max Power, a name which always makes me laugh - along with Success at Watford. And I know its pronounced differently and doesn't have our meaning, but the Italian forward Immobile always makes me think he should have been one from Holdsworth's little black book.

Possibly going off-off topic here!
