He said: "It seems to me that the UK is ready for a bloke waving a pint around, offering common sense solutions."

"Let it be known that like many of the parliamentary hopefuls in the forthcoming election, I have no idea where South Thanet is.

"But did that stop Margaret Thatcher from saving the Falkland Islands? No."

Well Farage's role model and inspiration has stood up.

Problem is the character invention of the role model is funnier, and more intelligent that the real Farage.

The 'city trader' lol

Willie Rushden did the same in the 70/80's didn't he?

Al Murray the man is a very intelligent man, his character The Pub Landlord is just that. Murray is going up against Farage, a man whom the Pub Landlord would normally be in favour of. As impressionist Jon Culshaw said the other day, Farage should paint himself yellow and join The Simpsons.

But think one political pundit said he can't actually run as a fictional character.

Good though that someone is going to lampoon Farage. I so hope he doesn't get voted in, be very sad if Farage does get into parliament

I think it will be funny to see Farage scare the hold beegeebies out of the politician's cos he does say it how it is and my type of bloke, not the whole rascial side of things but just the general speaking of the truth that our open door policy on immigration can not go on, how silly am politicians if they sorted this problem out they would more than likely get voted in all the time nowadays.

He doesn't speak the truth, he speaks utter garbage, he could give me a heartattack just listening to his smug bile!

Man of the people, he's a posh knob who has got a bit of fame.

He blamed being 2 hours late on the motorway traffic the other week, adding, 'that is what happens when you have an open door policy'

In other words, even his inability to get somewhere on time is down to immigrants.

He also supports fox hunting, so he can go fuck himself!

Not that I have strong views either way on the maggot obviously.

That is pathetic agree blaming immigrants for being late but he is crafty Fear dude cos he knows people have had enough of open door policy imigration so he is mentioning it as much as possible reminding people this is what he is standing for, the trouble isn't really Farage it is the current baffons and out of touch morons currently in Parliment imo,

If they had not let this immigration policy get into the state it is in the people like Farage would not be seen as much and heard nor success in poll's, but the people have had enough of seeing our NHS etc suffer with this open door policy, which i feel strongly about, even immigrants the emigrated to this country in recent times am saying the same thing we need to stop this open door policy cos too many am flooding in and we have no control on our borders.

I cor stand fox hunting, i think it is cruel and in-humane in times when we don't need to hunt for food this should be banned, but all the posh snobs luv it, Cameron and Miliband cons and Labs am the same to most of us thesedays, change is needed in some form.

He's peddling to tabloid fears Clive without much proof, evidence - think Daily Mail and the way they get the piss ripped out of them on here.

He's no different.

Nowt wrong with the immigration policy, it's spin and bullshit, the NHS suffers because of the English, not the 0.1% of foreign people who might use it.

We have plenty of control and not a single UKIP figure on immigration has become true otherwise Bulgaria would've taken over if you remember.

It's nonsense.

Funnily enough though Farage's PR tends to work, whip up the baseless masses anger and bile and I guess the 1930's taught us nothing.

The problem is Farage has played well to the majority who can't think out of the box and it is working. As I have said twice recently on here.

UKIP are no different to The BNP. No one admits voting for them yet Farage have whipped up enough to vote for them. How? People are fed up with the mainstream and on the surface they seem to offer a different agenda. Surface being the pivotal word.

They use Europe as their main policy and so many don't listen or can't to what is going on underneath. Even what he says on Europe isn't correct.

Now I am no European or Euro sceptic. I back neither side: I personally think we have to stay in Europe. We are damned if we stay in and even more damned if we come out. We certainly can not come out of Europe. We can not be an Island on it's own anymore. That s not the world we live in.

Thank heavens there's a public schoolboy to lampoon another public schoolboy.

Think I might vote for another public schoolboy/oxbridge chap instead as they'll know best what's good for us all.

bright future

The real trouble is the choice we have, it is one extreme plonker to another, anybody that tells me Conservatives am good and all that bollox am right inside there box if you ask me, Cameron is just another bshitter and con man lying away as usual and as tories do protect the rich.

Well said Clive.

And if the Red Tops & The Media are going against Farage - then Farage must be doing something right.

How beautiful it would be if the people voted in a guy that the people at the top(ruling over us)all hate.

It would be almost like the Crazy Gang getting a top 4 spot.

It all has to go the way they say, this is the rule, this is so - so........& the fickle, stupid public keep going along with it, time after time. Who cares if Farage is a 24 x carat plonker, 2 bit liar etc? Farage is the crazy gang upsetting the stable & consistent(this is ours) - top 4 of the Premiership. H eis the public's way of saying "f_ck you" to The Media, The Red Tops and the current system.

Farage just needs one line before the election; "I'm a twat, I'm a liar, I'm a British Politician, so vote for me".

Difference between Murray and Farage...Murray wouldn't take the job knowing he has no policies, he's standing as a joke.

Farage misses his own irony.

Or does he? Hmmm he's just SOOOOOO different.

This is great, I used to live in that constituency, full of plenty of sarf east mockney types. Also going to see Al live this Saturday in Brussels! I am sure Farage will come up at some point
