Today I was accused of being out of touch with how things are in the UK. Whilst I accept that this is partially true (I've never been to a Nandos for example, they simply were too small back in 1999, when I left the UK, for me to have heard of them) I do still have friends and family in the UK with whom I have almost daily contact. None of my friends or family have ever expressed being afraid to go out or let their kids go out because of all the Muslims. I have as siste-in-law in Coventry that has always been, what I would call, overly careful about her kids but she has rarely lived in the better areas and has never blamed it on anything other than the usual rabble of troublemakers plus a fear of child abducters (a touch paranoid perhaps?) Also, my sister, who used to work at Small Heath Leisure Centre, did feel uncomfortable with the looks she got wearing shorts in the area.

However, I am willing to accept that I don't experience the UK on a daily basis and I know there are shitty areas (there always has been) but are any of you scared to go out/send your kids out because of Muslims?

You came out a while back didn't you Clive? :5:

:19: Yes i bloody well did, now giz a kiss :97:

Not directly cos of Muslims but with what's been going on i do keep it in mind as there is a Muslim area of Tipton where they live but i know a load of em from school tbh, i worry more about the hoodies and the crap they get up too that's why my kids won't be roaming the streets they will be in football/karate/boxing etc classes like i was and they can play in their garden and bedrooms, no good will come letting your kids mingle with the shits round here tbh.

I understand that Clive, as I said, there has always been, what might be termed, less selubrious areas and even in yhe best areas there can be horrible people and disruptive influences but I don't see an awful lot if any of this directly related to Islam.

Seriously I'm uncomfortable around here Smethwick after being brought up in Worcestershire. Hate the filthy barstewards spitting in the street but that is not just muslims thats all eastern types and their filthy habits .. Lots of 18 to 30 lads of all races round here dosing about on street corners . Not sure we are short of car washers and burglars, we have enough white chavvy feckers to do that.
I fully intend to retire the other side of the severn in a few years to get away from them all.
sorry if this offends and filthy spitting layabouts whatever your race.

Clive, how old are your kids?

Its just if you have a teenage daughter 15 - 19 yrs old say, she isnt going to be staying in her bedroom playing with her dolls.

Chances are she will be exploring various fashions, foods, interested in sexual activity and become very self conscious. You cant lock your kids up forever mate & the karate club will be long gone out of favour.

And when your daughter does reach this age it becomes a worry for the parents when she goes out at night.

The only thing here though - is that I wouldnt necessarily blame the worries on just living near a Muslim area. There are plenty of areas where we dont have many Muslims that are just as worrying.

We don't have very many coloured people in York. Infact we don't really have any large communities of anyone. There is a small community of Poles.

There is a small Mosque now more for visiting people. You wouldn't even know it was their unless you were told were it was. The Muslim school is above a row of flats, which is knocked through from 4 flats into 1 to make 1 school.

I am still careful when I go out and I was when my youngsters were small. They weren't allowed to roam the streets. There actives and friends were supervised and they were taken to and from places, either by car or met.

Got to be careful wherever you go. Not an issue here like in the big cities

It's less about Muslims, more about young blokes hanging about with naff all else to do. Whether they are Pakistani lads, Poles, Lithuanians, or fucking basterd local white twats with a massive chip on their shoulder, the issue is groups of lads have much more bravado than a bloke on his own.

There was an incident in my local kebab shop, a group of lairy local white lads were trying to kick off against families (men, women, kids) who they thought were Muslim. A couple of us stepped in ( me and a couple of cabbies) before the whole thing got sorted by a massive polish bloke and his Irish mate. The white twats legged it with a few cuffs to the head and the big polish guy made a point of asking everyone if they were okay. Now you can stick your multiculturalism up your arse, that was simply a bloke standing up to some bigoted bullies. A beautiful thing.

My kebab took ages though...

I personally think whichever city you go into in this country you will find youths of differing cultures who congregate. Some can be threatening in some areas. I don't think muslims come into it so much. They tend to be more 'undercover', a la Rotherham perhaps. But it is the underlying problem in this country.

When I was in Indonesia, I would feel completely safe at night, even if it was 1 or 2am in the morning, and that is a muslim country, all be it very moderate. That's why I am going back in December.

Nearly 4 and 5, i know what your saying but i was talking about whilst they get to there 7/8/9 onwards as some kids round here am chucked into the street really young, disgusting imo makes me sick to see, but i will make damn sure my kids won't be like that tbh, my bad though GT dude i wasn't clear what i meant and age of my kids i was talking about :35:

Nope I don't live in fear if going out because of Muslims. I don't go out in redditch on nights because I'm not really from there, don't know many to meet but last time there was a massive fight including a staffy being kicked,! High streets up and down the land are a bit lively with drinkers etc but no on your question.

Like Pride said, I live in a Muslim country and I never feel unsafe.

I lived in Eltham in London for six months. That was a shit hole. You had to keep your wits about you in Eltham and I don't remember seeing a Muslim there. Eltham seemed entirely populated by chavs in Burberry caps.

No, why would anybody be? Here (up t north) it's more gangs of idiot white "yoofs", when I was in Brum, Handsworth/Edgebaston there were Black (coloured! Really?) and Asian gangs of all types, their religion has/had nothing to do with it.

Why did you single Muslims out? Have you heard that they are taking over the streets?

I'm quite happy with these responses. I didn't think I was so out of touch but a (now former) facebook contact of mine started on about how out of touch I am and that he's afraid to send his kids out to play because of all the Muslims. Apparently English whites are now becoming a "minority in our own country". Well not only is this complete bullshit, even if it was true, so what, that's how democracy works, majority rule. As long as it doesn't lead to oppression then imo all is good, that's exactly how the chosen system is supposed to work.

Of course, cultural makeup can be hugely influenced, it could be argued that an already overpopulated country, like the UK, should not be accepting any more migrants other than EU(currently a legal obligation to accept) and family reunions (a tiny percentage) but perhaps that's an argument for another time.

Few years ago there was a bit of a problem in Brierley Hill highstreet with quite a big mob of Muslims who would mob up on a night time I walked past them one night and one of them said good night in a sarky manner hoping for a reaction but I just repeated him and carried on walking without looking back.Couple of days later I heard of two local lads getting attacked probably from the same mob and one of them got stabbed which provoked a reaction from the local youth and there were a few tit for tat attacks going on and eventually the mob moved on.But it never got to a stage where you would be afraid to go out however I once heard about a bloke I used to work with who had been scared to go to his local through fear of a Muslim gang in his street of a night time so I went round to his house a few times but could never get an answer he even stopped going out to work so I think it might of been more of a mental illness issue shame because he was a lovely bloke.Dare say there are areas where Muslim's rule with fear (not JF) but there are area's of mob rule of quite a lot of different groups not a Muslim problem just an anti social one.

White British is an ethnicity classification used in the 2011 United Kingdom Census. As a result of the 2011 census the White British population was estimated 51,736,290 (81.9% of the UK total population)

(NB. This total includes the population estimate for Northern Ireland)
