Accepting that advertising is a necessary part of providing this site, the new level of ad banners all over almost every page is beginning to make the articles and posts unreadable on an iPad.

There needs to be a better balance rather than just throwing ads all over the screens.
 
Harry , I gave up using my I pad on here a long while ago , It was well documented that I was having trouble with it , but since switching to my I phone I have no problems at all . I use it in landscape mode , there are a few adverts at the top and lots after the last post , but nothing in between .
It doesn’t work so well in portrait mode as a few features go missing , like page numbers and the ‘editing posts after sending’ button . They are still there but you have to faff around looking for them .
I don’t even notice the ads anymore . Maybe I shouldn’t say that because that’s all they are there for , to get into our brain . Maybe they work subliminally ! Ha ha
As I’m writing this , there is one casino ad at the top and two ads at the bottom , nothing in between .
 
I would not dream of advertising on this site personally as I only sell my crap to non spurs supporters! They deserve it heh heh....so I won't get in yer way boys when you browse

Hi Walth...I had no problem until the last week or so...now I’m lucky to find the posts in amongst a ridiculous amount of ads...some website designers poor judgement I guess....I doubt any one will do anything about it..
 
Yeah I simply cannot use my iPad anymore...I only use my home computer and work computer.
 
Wonder why the I pad and I phone are different . I had awful troubles on my I pad , I remember EX and 80 trying to help me out with suggestions , but nothing worked , and they were saying that theirs worked perfectly. I resorted to using my I phone and it works great . As I said , using it in landscape gives the best results , I have very few adverts and no problems . The only thing I must do ,sometime when I can be arsed to look how to do it , is to turn off predictive texts . If I posted on here without careful scrutiny of what the phone thinks I have been trying to say , you would think I’ve totally lost it . Sometimes it’s hilarious, maybe I will do it and see if anyone can unscramble it .

I don’t have an iPhone but to be honest if I used a phone it would take me 30 minutes to post what you just wrote Walth....I don’t know how the kids do it so fast...perhaps they let the predictive text take over and they all understand the gobbledegook that comes out...anyway, i have a few ideas to try out....see what happens

I’m just a one finger man ( ask my wife ! ) . But I’ve seen kids typing with two thumbs at the same time and not even looking at the keypad !
