Advert

Rising

Alert Team
Is anyone getting plagued with a Capital One advert lately? It fills the entire screen. It has a X in the top corner but it does not close the ad when you click it and takes you to their website. The only way to get rid is to close browser and start again.
It's by far the worst yet. At least the Skybet one was a small box, easily closed.

Can you send me a screenshot, tell me the device your using to view VMC and the date and time to -

manchestercity@vitalfootball.co.uk and i'll forward it to Vital HQ.

If anyone else is having similar problems with intrusive adverts can you please do the same as per my previous post please.

Thanks.

Sorry, Mr. T. I'm on a ipad and I don't know how to do a screenshot and even if I did I wouldn't know how to send it.
I'm really pants technically ...

Been in contact with Vital HQ - they have told the ad company, who are not playing ball to turn off the intrusive ads on all of the Vital forums. Its fine on a PC IE you don't see them - my adblock is turned off on VMC but on tablets and mobiles etc it causes havoc. I have a Samsung 6 Edge and have similar issues when it comes to intrusive ads on Vital forums.

Hopefully all is now sorted but if its not, please let me know.

Just reading your reply at 18:05 suddenly blocked out by Capital One ad.
I will let you know when/if it ceases.
Thanks for all your efforts on our behalf.

I've not had that ad on my phone or PC, but have noted a huge increase in the number of ads generally, particularly on my phone (android) in the last couple of days. It is slowing down the loading of pages to an almost unacceptable level. It's a shame, because i was really starting to like the new place :013:

Keep the feedback coming folks.

Vital Towers are on our side - they are football fans and run their own Vital sites and so they are not doing this on purpose. This will get sorted with the ad agancy, once and for all, I promise :026:

Cheers Mr. T. This problem may well be putting off visitors.
I remember Chippy Tea saying it was a big problem for him and he now seems to have disappeared.

Mr. T. I spoke too soon. Capital One ad is back this morning with a vengeance.
Sorry to moan. I'm sure you've got better things to do!

Press the power button and the home button together for a screenshot Rising.

The sending bit I'm at a bit of a loss, used to be able to send pics no problem on iPhone but now they just appear as URLs for some reason ( this happened before the new format ).

Since I posted this, I have not seen the ad again, so I think we can safely say this has now been sorted.
Thankyou again, Mr. T.

All I do is pass on the feedback to Vital HQ and they do what is necessary. Like i've said before the two guys who own and run the network have no intention of pissing anyone off and have / are doing what they can to make everyone happy, but at the same time trying to make enough money from the advertisers to keep the place running. I will continue to pass on the feedback, whether its good or not so good. :005:

Overall, I think the new style forum template, now i'm used to it looks pretty cool :042:

I have no problems with ads per se. I know they are necessary and I don't mind them in general but it's the ones which appear suddenly full screen, obliterating what I am reading or typing and then proving difficult to close.

Totally agree Rising, the pop-up intrusive ads drive me up the wall as well.

What the companies don't realise is that it puts people off their products, for example, if I was in the market for a credit card, the last one I would consider now is Capital One because they've pissed me off big-time on here.

Yeah particularly when you can get a Virgin Money credit card at representative 18.9% variable (other credit cards are available) according to adverts on this very site.
Not that I'm in any influenced :047:
