As posted on X it is his birthday today.

What a player,

I remember Brentford away, the days when we didn’t have the luxury as a team of staying the night before and the team bus got caught up in an accident we got there before the team, he got us the equaliser and if it wasn’t for Nguessan being selfish could have got us the winner also.

My main recollections are

Often being a sub, and just practicing volleying the ball in over and over before the game and at half time.

Quite a few goals off the bench - including a couple against Accrington and one at Luton away - where we were second best then Patulea came on quite late and gave us some energy and scored, although we lost the game.

Winner v Notts County.

I always got the feeling he was a bit of a loose cannon and managers didn't neccessarily trust him (and it didn't then work out for him at Leyton Orient) but I loved him at the time! Felt like something might just fall to him and he'd score like an old fashioned poacher.

A very good player and a very humble person i can always remember radio lincolnshire when he scored his first goal i think it was against barnet saying to him Adrian the crowd says you are a hero and he said im not a hero its Doctors who is battling at 4 am in the morning to save a childs life in a hospital they are hero i thought what a smashing humble person
