So, I'm reading up on the Adam Johnson case, and I need some help deciphering what's going on. For example:

What constitutes "sexual activity with a child"? And, if he's already pleaded guilty to one count of it, why is he on trial for two more?

What does "grooming" mean? Is it just contact up until the event occurs?

Answers would be much appreciated.

HE will have been charged on each offence for each complainant, whilst I do not know the circumstances surrounding the case, in some cases some complaints are spurious and are only made in the hope of monetary recompense , that is not to say this is the case here, it is only an opinion as to why the not guilty plea to these further offences.

Sexual activity, could be simply touching or an embrace or a kiss in an inappropriate manner or part of the body.

Grooming is a modern way of say befriending the complainant in such a way that would allowing the accused to commit the sexual activity

6 Years, probably out in 30 months if he behaves and plays well for the prison side, I hope he has saved some money because he is finished in football.
 
Changing my mind about him not being appealing, could be a couple of long termers might find him ok! :025:
