Acid attack: Mark van Dongen's ex-partner cleared of murder

Very odd. It says that he gave her the acid to drink, but after throwing it over him she sat there and called her ex, so with no remorse I would have thought Manslaughter at the very least?
 
Having claimed that, he was also apparently asleep and she brought it to deal with the drains (TV coverage earlier).

As you say Mans at the minimum, but what about Grievious or Actual bodily harm even if you can't make the leap to murder because he euthanised (even allowing for a death can take place and be charged as murder if categorically linked to attack with intent).

More questions than answers for me.
 
Jailed for life does mean IF she gets out she will be permanently on licence. She won't ever be completely free. Any offence would mean she would be straight back inside even if it was nicking a banana from the local shop. She will be still be a prisoner as she will be expected to report every move and be monitored.

No it is not the same as being physically locked up however she won't be walking away free. No one on a life sentence with a minimum term gets to walk away from the crime, if they are let out, as she will always have to answer to probation and other agencies involved
