AC Milan vs Tottenham Hotspur

I'm hoping Muttley or Matic will give us a preview as I haven't had a chance to watch anything other than highlights so far.

One mans poison is another opportunity - the kids will probably all be starting this one.

Eriksen seems very impressed with Skippy, so skips and Amos to start as well as CCV, N'Cluedo lamela, Son, Eriksen, Aurier, KWP, Gazza, Davies, Moura for me...

More time for Skipp and Amos. If Sterling is fit, give him the start too.

Gaz
KWP - CCV - Sanchez - Davies
Skipp - Amos
Lucas - Lamela - N'koudou
Sterling

Gonna be interesting whether Poch's view is that everyone that toured and is fit gets minutes on the pitch. We know that Sissoko, Wanyama and Lamela are out of this one. Would assume that Foyth is as well.

I'd probably go with something like

Gazza
CCV Sanchez Davies
KWP Amos Skipp N'Koudou
Georgio Sterling Moura

I'm a big believer in ensuring that this squad is capable of switching between 4-2-3-1 and 3-4-3. We've played with back fours and Amos protecting for a couple of games. Why not give the other system a go.

Is it fair to the kids to start too many at once?

Great question, needs must with the injuries mounting. Part of me wanted to put Aurier on the right of the back 3 and don't risk Sanchez.

Also, is it fair to the sponsors and paying fans? This tournament is outside of FIFA and UEFA control and someone is paying a bunch of money to see a load of reserves and kids play after the WC. The conspiracy theorists are calling the ICC the backdoor way of starting a European league.

It is. It's not even in doubt, there is a wall of money ready to try and force this competition into something much much bigger - will they succeed is the big question?

My view is UEFA will keep blocking until the numbers are so big, the ECA force them to step aside.

fist 25min no real chances for anyone.

Marsh, Amos, & Skipp appear to be trying to play the same position, someone's gotta move forward a bit, Skipp seems the most likely to be dangerous.

KWP looks better than last time already.

.

nice goal but keeper should have done better really.

Still, he's 2 for 2 against Barca and Milan. Maybe we'll be able to flog him.

He does look lively, I wonder if there's still a player to be had out of him, but I do think that ship has sailed with us.

NkooDoo has done all he could to show his ambition and value in these pre season matches. Is he one for our squad this season? If he were home grown I doubt there'd as much of a question.

If he was included on loan in the Zaha deal, that might be a great option for everyone.

Has a nose for goal tho, however they come about.

We did an Italian job on them - even with a makeshift back 4 we looked pretty solid for most of the game - a couple of times we didn't hold the line and they were smart enough to beat our offside trap..but overall liked the team performance - showed great spirit and on occasion not a little flair.

Well done to the youngsters they all did exceptionally well.

Skipp and Amos are talents! NKoudou gets into the right positions and did well but Poch will not like how often he loses the ball. Georgiou impressed me at LB too.

You can see why Poch is a fan of Suso btw. The lad is decent now.

Poch plays Lamela, Dele and Sissoko!

Just watched Skippy's best bits video, no not tut, tut, tut....what's that there are two boys trapped in the canyon.

His game against AC Milan. Very composed beyond his years, quick one touch passing, strong tackler . We have spoken about him before but seeing him play with lads he has come through the academy with shows what he can do when in tune with the team . There is a case for playing two or three youngsters together, they already work as a unit and know each others strengths. Rather than say putting Skipp next to Dembele in the middle he may play better with Amos or Winks etc.

Their commitment and attitude is a pleasure to watch

Just watched the game. A few observations:

Well done the youngsters. Georgiou switched to left back and put in a solid performance. The trio of Marsh right centre, Skipp left centre and Amos middle toiled together in midfield whilst Eyoma stood tall alongside Sanchez. It was a good goal by N’Koudou. The more I see of Skipp, the more I like. Always demanding the ball and willing to drop deeper or go wherever to get on it. Reminds me a lot of Gerrard. Amos as well was his normal neat and tidy self protecting the back four whenever he could. Whilst Milan had a few first half chances, by the time the game finished we were well on top with Rolls Royce’s like Eriksen coming on and taking control. Not the most enjoyable game though. Never is against Italian sides who are more interested in the dark arts than playing the game.

Moving onto Llorente. Quite frankly, he would have burnt more calories if he had gone and sat in a sauna for 15 mins. He got the hook after an hour and I felt angry when I saw him wearing the armband after Vorm went off. All these kids putting a massive shift for our club and a guy earning more than all of them put together just strollling around as if it was an exhibition match. You’d have to kidnap his wife and kids to get him to go through the pain barrier for our club.

All in all, Poch must be worried about a few injuries and the obvious lack of transfer activity but chuffed to bits with his touring squad. He’s in his 5th season in charge and you can see that his philosophy is up and down the club from the 1st team to the academy. We’re organized whoever plays and finish every game strong with the fitness levels and intensity.

Spurs player of the tournament for me was Amos. Once again, he left it all out there and looked absolutely knackered by th 90th minute.

That's great. Even better if you posted the video!
