B - Backgammon. It's been explained to me and I've (sort of) watched people play it. But I'd rather play draughts. In fact I'd probably rather watch paint dry.

I play but I don't think we play the right rules - last time I played it was against a computer which, obviously, did play the right rules!

C CONTRABAND - A card game I had when I was in junior school. It was about smuggling and having to get things through customs without paying tax on them. It was a good game.

D - Dominoes. Played as a kid with the 28 piece set that went up to double six. But in London and up here people seem to play with 55 piece sets that go up to double 9. These are far too complicated for me to grasp.

Got a double-six dominoes set and a double-nines (55 piece) set. Odd-primes is good 55-piece game. First encountered a double-nines set in a pub in Oswaldtwistle, on a Millers away game trip to Blackburn. Never seen a double-nines set in pub or club in Rotherham. Apparently there are also double-twelve sets too , although I have never seen one.

E ETCH-A-SKETCH - loved mine. Learned to write Millers with it!

F - Follow the Leader. Game we played at primary school where you all follow in a line and have to mimic the actions of the 'leader' and you get knocked out if you fail.

G GAME Of Life - board game which is what it says about your life. You have a car with holes in and you get a peg for when you get married, have children, buy a house (I think) etc. My nieces favourite game in the 70's and one my granddaughter likes now.

H - Hopscotch. Another playground game of my childhood. Can't remember exactly how we played it but there were squares drawn on the ground and you jumped around on one leg!

I I Spy - we had to be really bored to play this! Usually in a car on a long journey.

We had these books called I-Spy on various topics. Often played it on car journeys as you say.

J - Jumanji. Supernatural board game which featured in several films and which unleashes jungle terrors on anyone who plays.

K KISS Catch - played in the playground at school. If you were caught you had to be kissed and then you were the catcher.

I rather suspect that this game is now not 'political correct' to play.

Yes, I remember the I-Spy books.

L LUDO - classic board game (with dice) for two, three or four players. COPPIT and SORRY are closely related. I have played them all.

M - Monopoly. Another classic game. I've played it many times but not sure I enjoy it.
