A-Z Of The Radio

W WHTZ - New York state area commercial radio station. Lots of American radio stations are named "W-something-something-something". This is because the letters "W" and "K" are used to identify commercial radio stations in the USA , eastern and western areas respectively. "N" and "A" are used to classify military radio stations. The are a few exceptions, those being radio stations that were operational before the current classification was introduced.
