S SIMON Smith and the amazing dancing BEAR". Ragtime-jazz influenced song from US singer-songwriter, Randy Newman. It has been recorded by many singers and bands. A hit single in the UK for the Alan Price Set in 1967, reaching number 4 in the charts.
 
Alternative "T" - "TIGER feet" by Mud. Reached number one in the UK sinlges chart in 1974.

Alternative "U"- " (The) Unicorn" by folk group The Irish Rovers (1962), Unicorns are mythical horse-like animals with single spiral horns.

Y YERTLE The TURTLE - Red Hot Chile Peppers song taken from the book of the same name by Dr Zeus.

The book was banned in British Columbia in 2012 for being 'too political for younger readers'.
 
Alternative "W" - "WILD HORSES" ... well-known song by the Rolling Stones, and fetaures on the album "Sticky Fingers" (1971). Plans to release it as a single in the UK had to be shelved for legal/contractual reasons.

Alternative "X" - "X-CAT" ... S .Korean electronic indie-pop/hip-hop from female singer/rapper/producer Meenoi (real name Park Min-young (2025). It's a bit like some of Kahimi Karie's recordings. Quite like it . Clip on YouTube.

Meenoi has also made some YouTube cookery videos, and appropriately, has recorded a song called "I need to buy ingredients" . She has a certain zany charm!
