U Upside down cake/pudding - The ones I have eaten have been of the pineapple variety , but there are recipes which use other fruits.

I don't remember the Freddy Davies song, Mike - saw him on stage once on holiday somewhere I think it was. I wouldn't go out and order a trifle but my Mum's was delicious but that might have been the bottle of sherry she used to put in it!

U Upside Down Cake - even if I say so myself I used to do a cracking pineapple and coconut one in the distant past when I used to bake.

V Vanilla fudge cake - although not really a pudding... or vanilla ice cream

W Walnut Pudding - an Indian dessert made with ground walnuts, eggs, milk and sugar

X Xmas pudding - quite like it, and usually have some at Christmas time

Y - Yoghurt eaten as ‘afters’ but not really a pudding although often a component of a dessert

Z Zwetschgenkuchen - German plum cake. Looks good - don't think I have ever had any though

I'd got zabaglione for Z - very sweet and sickly (even for me!)
