A-Z of Primary Colours in film and song

R (The) RED Balloon - or la ballon rouge) - French film about a boy who finds a helium balloon and realises it follows him wherever he goes. Film the the mid-50's and, if I remember rightly, it was silent (but not sure about that).
Haven't seen this for many years and we had a b&w telly so the contrast of the red balloon and the grey-brown Parisian streets was rather lost. I can't remember if it was silent or not.

S - Yellow Sky. 1948 Western and a favourite of mine with Anne Baxter (very tomboyish in jeans), Gregory Peck and Richard Widmark. Outlaws on the run arrive at a ghost town occupied by an old prospector and his daughter.

T THE Blue Lamp - Jack Warner playing Dixon of Dock Green and Dirk Bogarde the baddy - saw it a few months ago (again!)

I think it was the inspiration for Dixon.
Yes, I believe it was.

I actually watched the end of a Dixon of Dock Green one day last week - I was amazed it was in colour! Just don't remember any in colour. Looked at the date and it was in the 1970's - hadn't realised they made them that late on.

W - The Woman in Red. 1984 romantic comedy, written, directed and starring Gene Wilder. With Kelly LeBrock. Stevie Wonder got an Oscar for the song, 'I Just called to Say I love You.'

Y - Yellow River. 1970 No.1 single by British band, Christie. Spoilt for choice on 'yellow' songs with Yellow Bird and Tie a Yellow Ribbon two more I remember well.

Z - Red Zone. 2014 movie with Anthony LaPaglia. I think this was meant to be pilot for a series but no idea if it happened. LaPaglia was very good in the series Without a Trace.
