Z - Zoophobia. Fear of animals. My two granddaughters have a fear of insects which is at the phobia level. Rooms have to checked for spiders, flies or whatever before they'll go in. Must admit after watching Dr No I did check for tarantulas in the bed for a few years.

My daughter still doesn't like moths - we used to have to go and check her bedroom in 'moth season' before she'd go in it! And my granddaughter has a terrible fear of dogs after having one jump up at her and scratch her when she was 2.
