This can be any name for a phobia or anything that people have phobias about
I read an article that says women are more likely to have phobias than men! I didn't know that!

A Agoraphobia - strange one I think - it's a fear of crowds of people but also a fear of open spaces - I'd have thought they were opposites?

Good point, Caz. It derives from the Ancient Greek, agora, meaning a market place or assembly space. As someone who suffers from it I can tell you it's not a fear of open spaces but rather of crowds and being trapped, unable to escape. When I go to the cinema or theatre or whatever I always buy a ticket next to the aisle.

B - Bibliophobia. Now this one seems bonkers to me. An irrational fear of books or reading. I assume sufferers don't work at Waterstones.

C Chromophobia -the fear of colours. Does that mean you have to always have a black and white TV?! I can't imagine how people live a life without any colour.

E Euphobia - apparently this is the fear of hearing good news. This stems from a fear that positive developments will inevitably be followed by disappointment.

F- Frigophobia. I admit a new one to me. Fear of hypothermia or becoming cold. Apparently this mainly affects Chinese people and sufferers will wear heavy clothes and wrap in blankets even in warm weather.

Wow! My Mum-in-law must have been Chinese! 80 degrees outside and she still has heating on and blankets! Bless her.

Fear of balloons popping is the most common form of globophobia. I was always a bit wary of balloons myself as a kid and never blew them right up in case they exploded.

I haven't got enough breath to blow them up now! I invested in a balloon pump a few years ago - which worked but I ended up with a bad arm from all the pumping!

L - Lilapsophobia; a fear of hurricanes or tornadoes. Well, must say you'd be bonkers not to have such a fear. I hide under the bed when we have a storm in case the roof blows off.
