A-Z Of Paris

O - Opera Garnier. Also known as Palais Garnier. Historic building in 9th arrondissement and the setting for Leroux's Phantom of the Opera.

P POMPIDOU Centre - the largest museum for modern arts in Europe and is also a library, centre for music and research. Never looks finished to me.

R Rue Saint-Dominique - one of the most photographed streets in Paris. It's about a fifteen minute walk from the Eiffel Tower and has lovely views of it. caption.jpg

S - Sacre-Coeur. Officially the Basilica of Sacre-Coeur de Montmartre. Situated on the summit of the butte of Monmartre (up lots of steps) and second most visited attraction in Paris after the Eiffel Tower.

U - Universite Paris-Sorbonne. In 2018 it merged with the Pierre and Marie Curie University to form the Sorbonne University. As there are different bits all over the place difficult to specify a location.

W - Waldorf Astoria Versailles, hotel located in Trianon Palace. (probably out of my price range)

Did anyone watch the whole four hours of the opening ceremony last night? I got as far as the 'C's' then gave it up!
I never watch opening ceremonies. Had to laugh at some comments on another forum by Millers who were not impressed but clearly sat through the whole shebang obviously unaware that a TV can be turned off.
