A - All That Jazz. 1979 film starring Roy Scheider is a semi-autobiographical fantasy based on the life of dancer and choreographer, Bob Fosse.
 
B - BRONTOSAURUS ... hit single for The Move (1970). Described on the "Songfacts" website as " kind of heavy metal dance song with tongue-in-cheek lyrics". Brummie daftness, but I quite like it. Clip on YouTube.

.... and I almost missed a sitter...... "BILLY Elliot", critically acclaimed film about a working class boy from the North East, who wants to be a ballet dancer (2000). Directed by Stephen Daldry. Starring Jamie Bell as Young Billy and Adam Cooper as Adult Billy.

D - DO the Stanley - dance craze parody by West Country folk/pschyedelia/rock band Stackridge, released as a sinlge in 1973. They were banned by the BBC because of a cartoon advert showing main vocalist Mick "Mutter" Slater dancing with Queen Elizabeth (it's in the song lyrics, and so are references to other well-known 1960's dance crazes). That was about three or four years ahead of the Sex Pistols! The song is a bit Bonzo Dog DooDah-ish. Good fun! Clip on YouTube. (y)
 
F - The Funky Gibbon. Spoof song by The Goodies from their 1975 LP, The New Goodies LP. Got to 4 in the UK charts. Video on YouTube with the group showing the dance moves.
 
I was thinking of that song too. My little sister used to sing "Do the Monkey Gibbon"... not realising that gibbons are apes, not monkeys!

I - I bet you look good on the DANCE floor...well-known hit single from Sheffield band, the Arctic Monkeys. Reached number 1 in the UK charts in 2005. Haven't seen them play live, but pretty sure that I saw a couple of them in the audience at the Rotherham beer and music festival, a few years ago.
 
Alternative "N"- "New fangled TANGO", covered by many singers ,such as Lena Horne (1956). Other dance crazes are mentioned in the song.
