A - Andy Pandy. Premiered on BBC in 1950 and later part of Watch With Mother (a big part of my childhood). Andy was a marionette who lived in a picnic basket with his friends Teddy and Looby Loo. The TV programmes were based on a comic strip in Robin.

I didn't know that it was originally a comic strip!
 
B BOO-BOO - a bear friend of Yogi who tries to stop Yogi getting into trouble. The creation of Hannah-Barbera he first appeared in the Huckleberry Hound Show.
 
C - Casper the Friendly Ghost. Featured in 55 theatrical cartoons from 1945 to 1959 and in Harvey Comics comic since 1952. Has appeared in several TV series and a 1995 film.
 
D DEPUTY DAWG - Terrytoons cartoon dog who was a deputy sheriff in Florida and was part of the Captain Kangaroo Show before getting his own programme. Was around in the early 60's.
 
F - Fred Flintstone - always enjoyed watching the Flintstones - the life of a modern stone- age family
 
H HIRAM FLAVERSHAM - the Great Mouse Detective. The owner of a toyshop in London who makes animated toys. Originally came out in the mid-80's but was re-released in the USA in 1992.
 
M MR HAPPY - my favourite Mr Men character. Mr. Happy is the happiest person in all of Happyland. He always has a large grin on his face and will try and cheer up anyone who is feeling down.

He maybe should come to the New York Stadium on match days.
 
N - Noggin the Nog. Central character in an animated TV series which ran from 1959 -1965 together with a series of illustrated books. Watched it as a youngster and got some of the books at Christmas. Seem to remember it was on Sunday teatime but may be wrong?
 
P PETER the POSTMAN - from Camberwick Green.

His song is

Peter the postman is a very busy man
He empties the boxes as quickly as he can
He puts all the letters in a great big sack
And whistles as he marches with his load upon his back
 
Q - Quick Draw McGraw. Cartoon anthropomorphic horse who was a sheriff in the Wild West. Appeared in 45 cartoons between 1959-61; catchphrase was 'Now, hold on there!' His deputy was a Mexican burrow called Baba Looey.
