Just realised that I missed a sitter at the start - "ALBATROSS" by Fleetwood Mac. Number one in the UK singles charts in 1969.

T - The Three Ravens. British folk ballad first in print in 1611. Many versions of the song have been published and it is widely referenced in songs, novels and films.

U - Under the Double Eagle. Originally a march by Wagner but later a big 1935 hit as a new arrangement for Bill Boyd and His Cowboy Ramblers. Since recorded by many Country and Bluegrass artists. Was used in the Monty Python sketch Conrad Poohs and His Dancing Teeth.

X Xantu's hummingbird - see entry for "H"? Or , if books are allowed - "Xantu's Hummingbird : Hylocharis Xanthu " by Christine A. Howell (Published by Birds of America, 2000). Couldn't find anything else!
 
Y YELLOW BIRD - or to give it's correct title Choucoune (which translates as Yellow Bird). Song from Haiti based on a poem. In 1961 Arthur Lyman had a hit song with it.
