T Tulsa - Second largest city in the state of Oklahoma (see earlier posts). Commemerated by the Gene Pitney hit single "24 hours from Tulsa", which was written by Hal David. Many other famous musicians have recorded their own versions of it.

V Ventura Highway - 1972 minor UK hit for the USA group, America. Strictly speaking,, it is about the Ventura Freeway (101) west coast road in the USA. They sounded a bit like Crosby , Stills, Nash and Young.

The entrance hall had a fountain and enormous dangling glass chandelier - very grand but some of the rooms desperately needed a makeover!

Y Yellowstone National Park - situated at border of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. Famous for its variety of wildlife and unusual geothermal features. Inspiration for "Jellystone Park" , home of Yogi Bear.
