Saw Wreckless Eric in late 70s as part of a Stiff Tour concert with Ian Dury, Elvis Costello and others.
 
C - Captains Courageous. 1937 film from a novel by Kipling starring Spencer Tracy, Freddie Bartholomew, Lionel Barrymore and Melvyn Douglas.
 
Lindum - re Wreckless Eric - that was the tour that I saw too.... which brought to mind an alternative "B" - Blame it on CAIn" by Elvis Costello.

D DOWN came the rAIn" - novelty minor UK hit for Mister (Mitch) Murray (1965). Real name Lionel Michael Stitcher. He also wrote and produced several , more conventional, hit songs for other 1960s pop groups. Clip on YouTube.

E Eastbound TRAIN - first ever Dire Straits (AI in their name too!) to grace a record from November 1977. It's thought to be an ode to an unnamed woman Mark Knopfler saw at New Cross station in South East London, who traveled the same route as him.
 
H HAIR - song from Lady Gaga. Got into the top 20 of the UK charts in 2011. She said she wrote it about her parents who used to get 'p*ssed' at her outfits and hair when she was a teenager.
 
J JESUS on the mAInline - traditional gospel song. Many recorded versions. One of the best known is by US singer-songwriter, Ry Cooder and appears on the "Paradise and Lunch" album (1974). Clip on YouTube.

Or, J - Portrait of Jennie. 1948 film starring Jennifer Jones and Joseph Cotten. The title song (sometimes listed as Portrait of Jenny) has been covered by many Jazz artists and was a hit for Nat King Cole.
 
O - Over The Rainbow (or Somewhere Over The Rainbow). Song from the 1939 film, The Wizard of Oz, sung by the incomparable Judy Garland. Recorded by several other artists, notably Eva Cassidy.

P (A) pAIn in the ass - French black-comedy film, about an assassination set-up. The hitman is constantly interrupted by a suicidal bloke in the adjacent hotel room. The original film was released in 1973 ,was directed by Eduoard Molinaro and starred Jacques Brel, Lino Ventura and Caroline Cellier. The film is known as "L'emmedeur" in France. It has been shown on tv in the UK. There has been at least one remake.
