A - Annie Sawyer. Female lead character and ghost in the BBC series Being Human. Portrayed by Lenora Critchlow.
 
C - Casper. Ghost in 1995 supernatural comedy film of the same name based on the Harvey Comics cartoon character, Casper the Friendly Ghost.
 
F - Nathaniel Fisher, Snr. Character in HBO series, Six Feet Under, played by Richard Jenkins, killed in a car accident but returns to converse with family members throughout the series.
 
G - Ghosts of Christmas past, present and future - who appeared to Scrooge in Charles Dickens novel a Christmas Carol.
 
H - The Headless Horseman. Ghost in Washington Irvin's short story, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Featured also in 1999 film adaptation and TV series.
 
K KING HAMLET - father of Hamlet in the William Shakespeare play of the same name. Pops in and out to see his son a few times.
 
L - Ligeia. Story by Edgar Allan Poe made into a 1964 film with Vincent Price, The Tomb of Ligeia, about a man haunted by the spirit of his dead wife who returns as a cat.
 
M MRS Popov - a character in Rentaghost played by Sue Nicholls. Mrs Popov suffered from hay fever and whenever she sneezed she popped-off somewhere.
 
O - Overlook. The name of the hotel in Stephen King's 1977 novel, The Shining, and 1980 film starring Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall. I used to read all of King's books but not for the last twenty years.
 
Q - Queen Mary : Ocean liner now permanently moored in Long Beach, California. After the ship was docked, reports of ghostly activity and hauntings began: splashing noises in drained swimming pools, children crying in the abandoned nursery, and so on. One of the cabins is no longer rented out due to “extreme paranormal activity,” and the ship is supposedly haunted by several ghosts of guests who were murdered or died in violent accidents while the liner was still operational.
 
R (The) RED Ghost - a large red camel with a human skeleton attached which is said to have been seen on the Arizonan frontier in the late 19th century.
 
S - (The) Stone Tape. A very spooky BBC Christmas ghost story from 1972 written by Nigel Kneale and starring Jane Asher, Michael Bates and Ian Cuthbertson. A team of researchers move into a facility in a supposedly haunted Victorian mansion.
