Last year, this is what Ashley said:
“I’ve confirmed to Rafa and Lee that they can have every last penny that the club generates through promotion, player sales and other means in order to build for next season.”

Looking back it appears to me to be a lie. I wonder if the club will clarify.

Of course they won’t!

In your opinion, as I know you’re good with the figures, what ‘should’ the club have to spend. In layman’s terms...

Broadly speaking, £85m on wages and £20m on other costs against revenues of £170m plus, adding in staged transfer payments from the sales of Sissoko, Wijnaldum etc, a net £60m minimum to maybe £85m, minus what Ashley raids the piggy bank for.
