This is a note to my friend 80.

I believe you can view the threads as a guest without signing in....so if he does decide to hop on and look now and then....

I don't want this to come off like he died or anything so...not going to get too soppy, but 80 was a major part of this site and will be missed.

I know I will miss his views and thoughts...many of which I disagreed with but damn I loved sparring with him...was damn good fun.

I did my very best to poke at him now and then just to get a reaction....he knows that and rolled with it often and countered smartly.

I will also miss the crazy looking dude for his avatar....I always wondered if that was him? LOL

So 80, my friend....if you see this. Come back you jackass....who the hell is going to reign in Nick if he starts messing with Gary and his ratings thread or Walt and my predictor thread....

Seriously I miss ya bud, hope you come back.

**hey I may even throw some bonus points your way for downright going all out to get them this time!!!!!
 
80 gave me some good advice and encouraged me to stay when faced with a situation that I was unhappy and uncomfortable with recently. I can only reciprocate by requesting him to reconsider, he has been a real rock on this site and will be much missed. I've not come across anybody who is as fiercely loyal, optimistic, and sometimes biased towards Spurs. It hasn't always been possible to agree with him, but he has always been good value with his inputs.
I know that he is/was also a regular contributor to the COYS site. It would be a huge shame if he has left VS to concentrate on that forum which does not have the camaraderie, and is nowhere near as balanced, informative and knowledgeable as this forum.

I echo your thoughts US.

Whilst the majority of us get caught up in the minutiae of all things Spurs, 80 has the ability to stand back and see the bigger picture. The perfect antidote particularly when things aren't going well at the club.

And I could never understand how, being based in Canada, he seemed to know so much more than the rest of us about what was happening inside the club.

I do hope he reconsiders.
 
Thank you USAF for putting over what so many of us think in that 80’s contributions have been invaluable. He came up with stuff and videos that were so interesting, informative and often very challenging. His unwavering support has always been a lesson to the many of the doubters and naysayers. I truly hope you will reconsider 80. PLEASE.

I miss some of the guys from the front page, shame they didn't come across.

Must admit I do miss HT and his outlandish predictions, which sometimes came close to the mark.
And BS wasn't a bad poster either
However there are a few, I'm glad I don't have any more dealings with.
I do think most of the good spuds made it on to here, even if only occasionally.

Well, I now know what he's facing and why this decision in the short term was inevitable given the new business commitments/agreements he's now dealing with.

It's a shame that it came off the back of some unwarranted negativity here that clearly did get to him, so in that sense, it was a last straw.

But he'd have had to withdraw/severely limit his time here no matter what, that just brought his thinking to a head slightly sooner than was planned.

I'm going to try to keep in touch with him and will also meet up with him next year; who knows, he may eventually be able to find the time to return (although I doubt that will be anytime soon).

That's a shame. You did your best as did many on here. I wish him well.

Any news on Real Deal returning? 80 said a few weeks back that he was taking a break.

54.....If you go to the banner at the top of this page and click on 'Spurs News & Views' it takes you to what most regard as the front page of the site. Here you can/would have found articles which are basically threads to comment on, this would include match threads and post match threads amongst others. There used to be a thriving and sometimes fiery community, this contributed to it's eventual downfall as a place to discuss all things Spurs. It didn't help that people really only discussed things on the most recent articles and when they started introducing multiple articles in a short space of time it lost all of the continuity of discussions and became a mess.
