77 years since tens of thousands of young British, Canadian and American men were sent to face the German machine guns on the beaches of Normandy. Their victory, borne of incredible bravery and at the cost of great sacrifice, both then and for the months that followed, turned the tide in Europe and enabled us to defeat the Nazi brutality.

Age will not weary them, nor the years condemn.

Combat nowadays is about staying alive, not taking orders from some upper class pompous **** who didn't even consider the ordinary man a person.

Just send enough to their deaths and eventually you'd gain ground based on sheer numbers

Peace in Europe was achieved because of the bravery of these young men, not the European Union and it's army of technocrats.

I doubt Brussels will mark this date.
