Swan is pissing his money up the wall

Just think if he had invested would we have got the Cowleys?

Good point. However it’s galling that all our success is self generated but we are still struggling to compete with pariah clubs like Scunthorpe who are thriving on outside money for no apparent purpose other than self promotion of an ego with no community backing and no benefit to anyone (apart from the initial 3000 or so fans) and the rich self promoter himself. Pointless.

Weigh up happiness

Lincoln v Scunthorpe as a fan

Lincoln v Scunthorpe as a feel good factor

No contest

The move to their new ground has seen an increase in success on the field but a decrease in support
Hope we get this right

Not sure the facts will back up your generalisation but Glanford Park opened about 30 years ago (and they are talking about replacing it). it's a completely different world and comparison. Fully agree with your hopes regarding any Imps move

Like it, or not, they have been far more successful than us in the last 12 years. They must be doing something right.

I think that thing they are doing right is termed ‘throwing money at it’.

Have they got any debt stacked up? Or is the cash going in donation rather than loans?

ALL our success??

May have misinterpreted your point, but yes, Scunny are backed.... by a yellowbelly. We, too are backed... by a South African

Do I think we would have got the Cowleys with Swann?? No

The infrastructure/sustainability we have been able to start building is due to success of the money invested by CN and co, (recruited by BD), and their ability to attract the Cowleys...that is hardly self generated. As indicated in a previous thread, we owe our success to them

There's a difference between investment to kick start a club (or any business) and just continually throwing money into something (as per Swann, Vince, et al).
Now SHOULD Scunny make the Championship, there are many millions to be earned potentially. So if they get there and stay for a while, Swann might even recoup his cash.

It's interesting how our backing has sparked a massive increase in crowds and Scunny's...hasn't.

Not really a football town I guess.

Like throwing an incredible amount of money at it? Which, yes, has seen a bit of success.

Before Swann, they had Wharton. They've been heavily bankrolled for years and years.
