The issue of a Premier League 39th game just won't go away and it's now being suggested that the Premier League's US owners are the main proponents behind the latest push.

Can understand it commercial wise and I probably would attend but what a pathetic idea for the game.

I'm shocked there isn't a Premiership 2 by now. The clubs a bit too big for the Champ and too small for the Prem. And sod all other clubs attitude.

Take the community shield across continents, that way two of the big four get to play a competitive match in a different continent each season for a cup that no one remembers anyway.

The idea won't go away because it will generate more money.

It won't be long before the PL is selling franchises like Formula 1 and having clubs in every major city in the world.

Maybe that's what all the gulf money is about? Buying up major clubs around the world so that they can put them all into a global league.
