30 years ago today?

Yep we won the GMVC today v Wycombe 30 years ago and beat Brighton to finish 3rd 20 years ago today.
Where does the time go?
 
Makes you realise how rickety the South Park Stand was by that stage - look at that roofline!
 
9,432 ???? What was the true gate ? Those were the days before replica footi shirts by the look of it.

A director told me a few years later that the gate was 'three to four thousand higher' but obviously could not be announced because the official capacity was 9,460 at the time.

True there were no replica shirts then, although I seem to remember Roger Bates having one when we were at school.
 
My Fathers birthday, he would have been 90. Stood on Sincil Bank terrace watching this game with him which was rare as the normal home for us was the St Andrews stand. Later that evening we all went out for a meal to celebrae the promotion, his birthday and his retirement from the Lincolnshire Echo. The man who would always post the Echo’s out to me wherever I was in the world. I’ll be raising a glass tonight !
