2026 Summer Transfer Window Thread

Motherwell fans say he played as a 10, which is where he also played for NZ. Why do you 'think of Just as a winger'?

Genuinely curious. I'd never seen him play before this summer, and I'd never heard of him at all until the WC!
I’m the same with Just, never heard of him before the WC either but he played all of New Zealand’s games out on the wing. When we signed him, I expected him to be a winger signing rather than a midfielder because that’s where I’d seen him play all summer.

He was signed under Matos, appreciate he's not the usual profile Matos has tended to go for in the midfield but if thats the case - don't splash £3-4 million
Not necessarily - I'm pretty sure we were linked with him when Sheehan was still here so he was of interest to the club before Matos. But I do hope that he is featured more this year because I think he has so much potential

yeah think the club just cracked on with that signing regardless of Matos' thoughts on it. Almeida very much the opposite of that so you'd expect Walta to fall further down the pecking order.

Just has been playing as an 8/10 in pre season and hes looked really good there and I dont see that changing.

Walta im not convinced he has the physical aspects to succeed in this league in all honesty but if he forces himself into the team then Just can easilly be put on the right to accomodate him.

If I was being really selfish I would like to see a RW come in but we can't have every single thing we want.

We’ll probably use Moussa Yeo out on the right with Ronald/Just as alternative options I’d imagine.

Oh is it? Fair enough.

I think last season our XI wasn’t bad at all but I cringed seeing the bench options every week

If we conclude the current deals that are in progress I think you could make an XI of backups that could still compete at the level

I’m delighted with the squad, even if we sold Vipi I’d be tempted to say we should hold the money until winter to see what we need to bring in
Our backup 11 is a joke its better then some of the main 11s we've put out over the years

Notable players left out- Inoussa, Widell, Seck.

Our depth is a joke

As people have said before, it's a long season. Minimum 48 games with the cups. So having Walta, Just, Widell, Almeida, Seck and Franco when he's back for the 8 roles will help with rotation, keeping it fresh. All will have to justify their place with that level of competition for places
