Its probable that the difference is amortisation (£37m)+ bonuses (as he hasnt asked for a transfer) + image rights.

The Super Citizens didn't get to rake £800m in profits by being frivilous with chucking money away, don't you know!
 
This does absolutely reek of an old negotiation trick.
Sporting have already got someone in to replace this chap, which means their hand is now stronger as they can suggest they don't need to sell him.
Removing this need puts them in a stronger position to now leverage more money out of the rich Premier League club.
I am behind Forest here in not being held over a barrel, as all agents will know if we capitulate, then we will risk being ripped off with other transfers in this window.

He’s a great signing if fit… and we can say that about any player…the plus side is should he get injured, it was a more low risk signing

I’m all for smart/sensible signings… if possible

It has been pointed out that he is on a wedge and a half, which is a wage all but the top few can afford.

If City want to shift him they will have to pay the difference between the 230k per week he earns at City and the amount he gets elsewhere, lets call that figure 150k.

Thats 16.6m they will load onto the transfer fee

Add that to the 40m you think he is worth and you get to 56.6m

On that basis, the 55m does not look unreasonable
 
Selling Milenkovic to Juventus would be equivalent to poking our eyes out with a blunt stick. They got their kits from Notts County and that is about where they sit relative to us in this market.
