2026 - 27 Pre season

Next game
Friday night in Switzerland v Austrian Bundesliga side St. Gallen 19:00.

More of a difficult task as they are a couple of weeks further into pre-season - not expecting a good result for us given the last two pitiful lack of scoring from our last season attackers currently in pre-season and not on hols
 
PC wants us to score goals by any of our team - with our prominent goal scorers away this is their chance to hone their skills and they're not hitting the net. Whilst friendly goals and results are somewhat subjective in the overall scheme of things, having played two lower teams albeit only on for half a game, they should hit the net. Only the reserves have scored. I hope it improves.
 
Naturally the world cup players:
Mclean - Cardoba - Sliname - Ahmed and Toure
did not appear in our first two pre season games.


Then there are some other players who have not appeared yet
but may be in a recovery process:

Brooks


As for the youngsters it looks like those who have worked hard and
absorbed what the coaches have told them have had a look in:

Towler - M

S. Jones - S
Ameen - S


Myles and Lines (GK) have been playing for Wales U 19s against Spain U19,
Germany U19 and Denmark U19s.

St Gallen 0-3 Norwich
City won their third pre-season match against St Gallen which was SGs final pre-season match - City scored their three in the first half - read the report on the Pink- Un - things are picking up - hopefully the WC players will be back soon.
Next game Wednesday away against Wimbledon
 
Got a bad tackle hit 2 mins from FT, nothing to do with previous injuries, but will be out for 3 months.
Makama also got a bad tackle same game and was out for St Gallen game but should be back in training middle of next week.
Team now off for a weeks session in London with 2 games against Wimbledon and now 1 game against Fulham.
WC players back next week to start their preseason.
Mahovo was best player in pre- season before his injury.
PC looking forward to get the players together for 24/7 sessions and will bectalking to each player in the evenings about what their role, goals and expectations are for the coming season

Philippe Clement has ruled out a panic buy after injured Norwich City left back Lucien Mahovo was sidelined for the start of the Championship season.
 
Boreham Wood FC have confirmed they will play a U21 Norwich City XI at Meadow Park on Friday 31 July 2026, 19:00 kick-off.
 
Good to see Brooks and Chrisene play in the Galen game.

Just watched the training session video on Norwich you tube. I dint understand some of the simple training routines that seem like not doing much, more warming up. I guess they wont want to give too much away .
 
So we're playing Wimbledon at 19:00 - cant find a report anywhere unless you pay - its now 20:30 and the match should be in the second half. Weird - its not behind closed doors.

A draw with a L1 side, however, it was a mixture of 1st, 2nd and 3rd string players with none of our internationals.
Fisher out with a swollen ankle in training Tuesday, Mahavo still injured, Brooks not fit enough, 3 of the Internationals started training Monday so too soon. Just Toure and Ali Ahmed to come back from the WC for pre-season training.
Finishing by Jurasek is still woeful, had two good chances blew both of then, KV didnt manage anything, Bowman needs to hit the ball not stroke it for a shot.
1400 City supporters went to Plough Lane - great turnout.
According to PC in his post Wimbledon interview Citys next match is 12:00 Saturday but against who I cant find out - maybe Fulham or a second Wimbledon. There's nothing about any additional pre-season games until the next one v Osasuna at CR on 1 August - weird. It could be dedicated secretive only for the Pink Un but I dont subscribe to them so cant check.
If its Fulham we'll get slaughtered.
