2024 / 25 Season

Another get out of jail free card played, how many does this guy have up his sleeve?
He’ll claim it was resting Mancini, Mani D and Grey and him re-introducing them today that forged the result. Let’s not be taken in, it was despite his influence not because of his influence today happened.

This wasn’t a show of support for the manager from Mani D, Mancini etal, this was more like them putting themselves in the shop window, wanting away, to somewhere their talents are better appreciated.
Said in an earlier post these are the players who can save him [& us] think today went someway to support that. If he cant see it he’s bringing it on himself.
One swallow and all that, let’s see where this takes us.

I feel that the next 3 ( all away) games will prove pivotal to Pools season, and no doubt by extension to the future of the encumbant manager!

Well my hope of just one manager this season has come to an abrupt end!
Whilst sorry to see anyone lose their job, I feel Pools have done the right thing.
Sarll's pre and post match comments were becoming increasingly bizzare; whilst a member of the Board shouldn't feel it necessary to leave the directors box to give advice to the manager in order to change the teams fortunes.
Sarll had long lost the support of the fans, and it would appear that the "dressing room " had followed suit!

Why does the recruitment process fail time and time again? I'd love to be a fly on the wall at interviews for managers at Pools. What are the applicants asked? What plans do they have?

And even before that, what on earth do coaching badges teach prospective managers? Nothing that works very well by the looks of things. It seems to be a thing with incoming managers that they want to get the team to play 'their' way instead of looking at the team members and seeing where their strengths lie. You just want to say to many managers: it's not about you, it's about getting the team to perform.

Football managers seem to be like that, entitled, stubborn and not open minded enough to see the bigger picture, if they were they would see the icebergs from a distance and avert any crisis, they’re not which makes for lots of movement and short term stays.

With 29 games left to play, a "new" management team installed and the prospect of adding to the squad, can Pools mount a realistic assault on the Play off places this season?

Halfway through the season, and after yesterday's victory against Yeovil, Pools are hanging onto the coat tails of the Playoff contenders.
I like to think that we can creep into to playoffs come season end, but there are probably half a dozen contenders for the final 2 Playoff positions. The top 5 being fairly assured to be York, FGR, Oldham, Gateshead and Barnet - of which my money is on Oldham to be champions.
There's a lot of football still to be played UTP.

Seems to me, that if Pools are to force their way into Playoff place contention, there is a need for some squad strengthening.
Traditionally, Pools only "strengthen " when in danger so I don't expect to see any reinforcements materialising!
