2024 / 25 Season

Think he may have found his vocation, if he’s sourcing the players he will make a half decent scout. When it comes to managing them it’s a totally different animal and should be left to those who know better.

We’ve almost found his level, when you look at the sides we’ve beaten, Boston, Yeovil & Tamworth, all were league below last season, even Braintree, no disrespect, shared the points with us, at our place as well.

We just cannot beat our peers from last term. My biggest fear is that from the next 3 games we are going to take at least one paggering, unless he somehow turns it round, but for me sadly the writing is on the wall.

Sarll seems to be determined to play 2 wingers, and has brought in 2 loanees to bolster those already in his squad.
If he is to pursue this approach, IMO, he needs to play 442 with a striker alongside Mani D, preferably Joe Grey. Playing 4231 leaves Mani isolated and the defence exposed on the flanks, again IMO

Whatever though Pools desperately need a home win.

Is this new lad an out & out winger or is he a wing back? Just thinking with Dodds apparently coming back are we looking at wing backs!

Just might give the manager more problems than solutions, does he go 4-4-2, does he go 5-3-2, where would Grey fit in, imo he’s getting difficult to ignore, at least he was last term and the beginning of this.
Does he go with Mani & Madine or one of them with Grey?
Campbell’s experience and talent has been absolutely wasted up to this point, where does or will he fit in?

Hunter & Sheron are a difficult watch for me, strangely think Featherstone can still play a part.
Getting the feeling he’s adding decent quality but still not sure how to best utilise them, again if it falls into place it will probably be more down to good luck rather than good management.

Boo's at full-time, fans aren't happy.
Sarll, despite having recruited most of the squad , doesn't appear to have a game plan.

Yet another Pools manager with lots of talk but no end product?

Think if Phillips had this squad we’d see a different outcome, we just can’t find the balance of right manager, quality recruitment and effective tactics. We should be in talks with a replacement now. Lose Tuesday he could go, draw Tuesday & lose Saturday he could go, lose Tuesday & Saturday and he should be gone.

With Lennie's appearance in dugout 2nd half on Saturday I think writing is on the wall for Sarll.
Rochdale will prove a watershed whatever the result. IMO

Dropped 3 places tonight leaving us 3 places and 4pts outside the relegation berths, he has to be gone surely??

I felt it was obvious from the team selection that Pools were going to struggle, though I was surprised at the extent of the defeat! Without Ferguson, but the availability of Waterfall he needed to switch to 3 at the back and play Dodds and Charman as wingbacks. No idea what he actually did and I don't think he knows either.
Sarll has to go, he has no idea how to organise the players at his disposal. In fact I suspect he has "lost the dressing room" with his inept tactical approach.

GOT TO GO, AND GO NOW!! Put Featherstone in charge under Lennie's tutorlage. (Cheap option)

Raj can't wait, as with Hartley, until it becomes too late to rescue the season from ending in relegation.

Totally agree he could have easily gone…
……………….keeper………….
Dodds…Parkes…Waterfall….Sass-Davies…Asiimwe
….Mancini…..Featherstone…Mathurin…..
…………..Mani D…………Grey………..

With a bench of:
Campbell, Madine, Charman, Sloggett, Robinson, Keeper.

Would love to see Wild organising the group, don’t think it will happen but would show ambition from the chairman, think it will be a case of the untested or the unwashed. This current fella doesn’t know whether his ar§e is punched or bored.

Relegated FGR tomorrow, anybody expecting a result (other than another defeat)?

I see that Hunter has an injury that will keep him out until the New Year, Pools always seem to have terrible "luck" with injuries!

They’ve scored twice as many goals as we have, so I fully expect them to score twice as many as we do tomorrow, 0-2 however we’ll be lucky to get nil. Possibility of injuries down to dummy spitting, not wanting to play for the manager or down to training on artificial surface then playing on grass!

Well, what next?
Sarll, in post match interview, implies that those benched weren't able to play to his tactics on Tuesday, and was unhappy with contributions when introduced yesterday! He has a week before Sutton come to Vic, can he fashion a masterstroke?
To be clear I don't care what system or tactics Pools play, or which players are selected; all I care about is winning and to do that you have to score goals.

If his tactics were working there might be a bit of substance to his argument however we are 6pts behind this time last year & 14 goals short of this time last year, most of which were scored by those he implicates.
His tactics don’t suit his personnel, he’s actually wasting the talent he has assembled.
He has us in a tailspin which he has no idea how to get out of, evidenced by us dropping like a stone, being the only side in this league to have lost their last 4 on the bounce, we are now 4 points and the same number of places from a relegation spot, he’s alienated the fans, is alienating those who can save him in Mani D, Grey and Mancini, how is he surviving?
The blame for this absolute $h!t storm is solely his, keeping him in post and continuing this debacle is only going to serve in shifting the focus from his poor management to Raj’s decision making.
Raj has to be on the phone sourcing a replacement, Sarll has to be in front of Raj in the morning. I fully expect only one of them to have any connection with HUFC by 10am.

Can't argue with facts.
However, I doubt Sarll will be leaving anytime soon. Just Can't see Raj / Board facing up to their mistake in appointing Sarll so early in his tenure.

We haven’t lost 5, or more, league games on the bounce since 2018, funnily enough it was in this league. Where we lost 7 league games on the spin with our exit from the FA cup somewhere in the middle of a run which eventually cost Bates his job. If he [Sarll] gets that long who knows where we will be and worryingly what position we will be in player wise!
