2024-25 Fixtures released today

We should be good for 9 points in August and that would be an excellent start. All three games are very winnable. Win these and I'll say that's progress because we usually struggle in fixtures like these. It's time to push on and hopefully we will. Fail in these opening fixtures and it's another season of pain ahead.

The Reds’ pre-season schedule will start with a short trip to Derbyshire, facing the Spireites in a friendly at the SMH Group Stadium on Saturday 13th July, kick-off 3pm.

This one will sell out pretty quickly as it is only a small ground.

It just so happens that one of our brethren plays Golf with Chesterfields owner.

Far be it for me to disclose this persons identity but if anyone wants a ticket send a DM to Strett

I see we've got 4 fixture clashes with our neighbours spread over the season, what with TV changes can't see there being many Saturday 3.00 games.
I'm sure this never used to happen until technology got involved in compiling fixtures. When I was growing up the rule of thumb was that Mansfield & Notts were at home on same Saturday which alternated with our home games on the other Saturday

Technology has been involved in compiling the fixtures for well over twenty years.

Its not the technology at fault, its the information being fed into it - rubbish in, rubbish out.

I would guess that Sky also have their input, which did not happen in the past - they will insist on certain fixtures being spread over the season and not taking place on the same day, Manchester City v Liverpool will not take place on the same day as Tottenham v Arsenal, for instance.

This will add more complexity.
