2018 window : Smiffs profit sheet.

I wrote on here yesterday that we were interested in Ben Marshall of Wolves well today the Sun insider has said that we are fighting for him but Millwall also in and he spent last season with them on loan.

His words are:

Norwich in and fighting hard for Marshall, Millwall could be beaten.

Agree we should go for Marriot Bears ....but that is showing ambition and the Smiths and Board have got zero of that

Coventry would get 15% of any sale, isn't too much I suppose. If we sold for 20 mill or 25 mill, they'd be getting 300k to 375k - I thought they'd be taking a bigger chunk than that.

Nathan.
You need to look at your decimal point :grinning: as 15 % of £ 25,000,000
is a whopping £ 3.75 million and more than our entire transfer budget.
Maybe you should work on the coventry money transfer deal :grinning:

Oh the board will be wheeling that one out asap. They will be saying 'don't expect to see any of that money spent on new players because 20 million is to fill a black financial hole, 3.7 million is to go to Coventry, 500k to go on the new pitch. All gone'.

The 1.5 million from Watkins probably go on Naismith and Martin payoffs

Do we ever add on a sell on clause?

We should do with Maddison and hopefully have done with Pritchard, Murphy, Redmond etc.

DG it is fine. Vrancic to fill in for Maddison - Srbeny to fill in for no one as we have no forwards - Steipermann to fill in for Murphy. We will also bring in a few League 2/3 German players and boom we will have one heck of a League 1 side

Last season budget.,
In : Emi Buendia : £ 1.5 million.

Summer window 2018.
Out : Josh Murphy : £ 11 million.
Out : Marley Watkins : £ 1.5 million.
Out : James Maddison : £ 24.5 million
Profit : £ 37 million.

Back to training today and here are 2 lists after 44 days since end of last season.
List of all signings :
* Buendia.
List of dead wood removed :

2 in now , but no word on getting rid of the 3 losers who are eating up Madders transfer fee at the rate of about £100,000 a week . It will all go on those 3 let down merchants unless we can get rid

I'm amazed those 3 are still here YB. They've been surplus to requirements for 2 seasons at least. Jesus, Jarvis never even became a requirement ! He's spent the whole time in the docs. :grinning:

Due to the horrendous mistakes made the previous management and the present Board who allowed the madness of the contracts given to these losers ,money that could have been used to build up out squad is having to be used to fill the bank accounts of these players .

‘Mistakes have been made ‘ said Balls Up , yet incredibly many fans still support the Board who have brought us to a situation where a massive black hole of £20m had to filled and we are having to use the precious Madders money on filling that hole and we cannot afford the quality players we need to get us up to the Prem and keep us there

Last season budget.,
In : Emi Buendia : £ 1.5 million.

Summer window 2018.
Out : Josh Murphy : £ 11 million.
Out : Marley Watkins : £ 1.5 million.
Out : James Maddison : £ 20 million.
In : Moritz Leitner : £ 1.3 million.
In : Ben Marshall : £ 1.5 million.
In. Teemu Pukki : £ 0

Profit : £ 29.7 million.

£30m !!!!! Owners will be well happy that their little toy is safe and secure to hand over to Nepotism Boy !

Window closed ....

Player sales ... £31m +

Player costs .... £4.5m

Profit £26.5m

Hardly any true quality investment in the team to get us into the Prem . The so called £20m black hole is now filled so what of the remaining £6.5m ? It certainly hasn’t been used to buy quality players . I can only assume it will be squandered on the Premier League fat wages of the non playing footballers who must be having a nice easy time of it

All we have heard too is that we are now okay and nowhere near the poor financial state we were in at end of season....let's see in January and summer what is said.
