2017/18 Fixtures

Alert Team
The fixtures for the 2017/18 Premier League season will be announced at 9am on Weds 14th June......... :043:

The new season sees the swift return of Newcastle United who were crowned Championship title winners along with newcomers Brighton and Hove Albion and Huddersfield Town who are back in the top flight of English football for the first time since the early 1970s.

Who will City get in their first domestic fixture on the weekend of 12th/13th August?

Would prefer an away fixture or to get the season up and running at the Etihad?

The waiting is almost over.....

Would love to get Chelsea for out first game and then leave them well and truly beaten with a bloody nose.

Ideally, I would like to start, and finish, with a home fixture. I don't mind who the first game is as long as it's not a newly promoted - they always play out of their skins in their joy at being back in the big time.

Three critical phases I always looks for........

The opening sequence of games, the Christmas/New Year period and then the last 8 fixtures aka 'the run in'. Always, always in the last set there will be a team fighting for it's PL life - last season it was Boro.

The tv amended schedules will emerge after a few days once Sky and BT have engineered their 'blockbuster' weekends. Rumours are circulating that the PL may sanction kick offs as early as 11am doubtless to satisfy overseas broadcast markets.......

As mentioned in the article in your previous post about this, it won't be until 2019/20 season at earliest

Bit fishy to me but I am hardly surprised. Long distance away matches for City fans on the opening and closing days of the season - now THAT is a stitch up. As you say Brighton will be well up for this fixture - raring to give one of the 'Big Boys' a bloody nose. I expect it will be on tv though.

With Hart playing a blinder to keep a clean sheet.

Also noticed that the rags are at home for the Boxing Day and 30th Dec fixtures whilst City travel to Newcastle and then Palace
