2016 Masters

This is one of the great sporting weekends of the year. Not only theGrand National but also the Masters which I love watching. Such a spectacular course and kept in immaculate condition.

Anyway I think Adam Scott will win this.

My favourite sporting weekend too. I love it.

Adam Scott or Jason Day for me.

Both in sparkling form.

If Day plays like he has been then he'll win. Simple as. But if he fails to hit his recent heights Scott seems the stand out choice to win it.

McIlroy isn't putting well enough to win. Especially on this tricky greens.

Spieth cant be ruled out, after coming 2nd and 1st in his first 2 starts there, but he's not in form.

Mickelson is my dark horse. He's bang in form at the moment and has won there 3 times before.

Also expecting bg weeks from Bubba, Dustin Johnson and Ricky Fowler. Gonna be a cracking tournament.

Gary Player got a hole in one playing in the Par 3 competition . He is 80 and in amazing condition. I think he still does 500 sit ups a day.

Did you see Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler?

They were playing together. Thomas hit a hole-in-one and then with the very next shot, Fowler hit a hole-in-one.

Amazing. Whats the odds on 2 in a row like that!

No I missed that I was flip flopping between the golf and the football.

There were 9 holes in one last night I think.

Bets are on. As well has the double mentioned above I've also had -

Jason Day, win only @ 7/1
Stenson, e/w @ 25/1
Grace, e/w @ 66/1

And also an e/w bet on Dustin Johnson to be leading after round 1 @ 16/1

Well that'll teach us all for writing off Jordan Spieth won't it.

1st last year, 2nd the year before and yet nobody gave him a chance this year..... and yet he goes out and smashes it with a -6 bogey-free round. Fair play.

Gutted that Jason Day messed up. Was looking like it was going to be a straight shoot out between the top 2 players in the world as Day was at -5 with 6 holes to play but dropped 5 shots in 3 holes. Ouch.

Brilliant evenings golf wasn't it Deano ? I thought Rory was going well until the last 3 holes , I wonder how much those 2 dropped shots will cost him come Sunday.

Did you see Ernie Els ? Dearie me

Yeah, that must be heartbreaking, so much build up and preparation and 6 over after the first hole. I think I'd throw my clubs in the water and catch the next flight home.

Yeah, but trying to put a positive spin on it, he has 35 holes left to try to make the cut.

Smylie Kaufman, Brandt Snedeker, throw in Bubba Watson for good measure.
Where the fuck do americans dream up these names from?.

Anyway golf is crap, can't stand it. Stupid commentators, even more stupid crowds shouting stupid things.

Enjoy the rest of the tournament chaps!.

Just been reading about the winner and the final round...... Danny Willetts it is then!

I don't follow golf as much as I used to, but I must say, I can't say I've heard of him before, but blimey, didn't he do well.

Our friend 'Mr Speith' seems to of blew it dropping those 6 shots in 3 holes though...... dreadful.

But, at the end of the day, it's a big well done for Danny Willetts......

Brilliant finish.

It looked like it was going to be another boring Jordan Spieth presession, but that nightmare 12th hole quadruple bogey really sparked life into everything. Felt sorry for him, dont get me wrong. Would have been awesome for him to become the youngest ever back to back winner, but from a viewing point of view it made things more exciting.

Would have liked Westwood to go on and win it after his chip in eagle but he went and threw it away on the next and Willet is a much deserved winner.

He wasn't even supposed to be playing either. His baby boy was due to be born today so he wouldn't have travelled. He only came coz his son came 2 weeks early. Who says premature is bad?!?! lol

Amazing wasn't it. Speiths chip into the water at the 12th just shows how pressure plays with even the best. I mean it barely made the water from 50 yards or so.

Shades of 1996 when Greg Norman folded under pressure from Faldo.

Superb finish, bit of car-crash viewing though - almost ended up watching Spieth through my fingers it was such a collapse.

Fair play to Willett went about his business superbly.

Around 6 years ago my daughter was having golf lessons off Danny Willett's coach. He was telling me that he had a great prospect who he thought could make it at the highest level.
Well done Danny.
