2016 good or bad?

So, as another year comes to an end, a good year or a bad year?

Brexit has divided an already divided country, but many who were suckered in by Project Fear are quickly coming to realise that this country can stand on it's own two feet again.
Even the Guardian is very reluctantly publishing the odd story saying that things will not be anywhere near as bad as some predicted.
Think back to what we were told. Absolute lies.
The remain team fought an extremely negative campaign and the majority saw through it.
While having no desire to re-run the whole debate, I think that we have much to look forward to in this country.

Football wise, it's been a bit worse than I expected.
I thought we'd be well in the play off places and seriously competing for promotion by Xmas.
However, with half a season to go, could we do a Barnsley and push on second half.
We certainly have the players to do it and my gut feeling is that we can make the play offs.

Celeb deaths.
It's been a real stinker.
So many passed on it's hard to keep up.

Anyway, a happy and hopefully prosperous New Year to all.

If we're talking about the lies of the brexit campaign it seems a bit strange to only mention the lies of the remain campaign. Or do you honestly still believe the rhetoric of the Leave campaign?

If you're not looking to re-run the whole debate that's a poor start!

With Trump winning in the US and the situation in Syria becoming more complex it has been an awful year on the global front as far as I'm concerned.

Football wise the only story is Leicester - fantastic. For us very disappointing but not disastrous.

Absolutely terrible year on the world stage. The situation in Syria is absolutely shocking and the UN has proved itself to be as impotent as ever in solving world issues.

Brexit split the country and although I was on the losing front I would to see us get on with it now and the best of it that we can. The cost of exiting us from the EU could really be better spent.

Trump I am not that concerned about as I don't think Clinton was a better option. Two bad options has always been my view.

The Pedophile rings and the ever emerging historic cases of child abuse show just how low the human race can go.

Terror attacks throughout the world have shown that despite (or even because of) the wests interventions in the Middle East the world is less safe than it has ever been.

More locally people sleeping and dieing on the streets shows how we have such an unjust society with a local council who seem incapable of acting.

Longer term our increasingly obese and long living society will drain the NHS and elderly care - and we will all end up paying for it.

Gills collapse at the end of last season from an unexpected shot at the championship.

Englands performance in the Euros was as poor as it was expected.

Corruption in sport.

On the positive side Team GB were brilliant in the Olympics

Leicester showed us that the little guy can win and gives hop for all the underdogs.

Overall 2016 has been overwhelmingly bad although life is what you make of it and for me persoanlly its been pretty good but I acknowledge I am in a fortunate position.

For 2017 I hope we can become a little more compassionate as a society but as I don't think central and local government are going to do it, I hope each of us will do something off our own back to put some compassion and kindness into the world.
