Team news... injured players who missed the Roses game are unlikely to be fit enough to play against Warks. The good news is that Joe Root should be available to play. There may be a bit of "squad rotation" too. At least there seem to be no new injuries.

Update - Rumours now that Fisher could be out for the rest of the season

YCCC website - Warks game on Thursday will be the last County Championship game for Haris Rauf for 2022. He is on a short contract because of international duties. He will be available for some Yorkshire T20 games though.

Update from YCCC - Malan is not being risked on Thursday due to an Achilles problem. Also Matthew Waite has gone to Worcs on a short loan.

Harry Brook has been called up for the England Test squad. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow are also in the Test squad.

Shadab Kahn , the Pakistan all-rounder, was signed for Yorkshire in April with the T20 games in mind. He is not playing tomorrow though. Fraine and Luxton are in the 13-man squad.

Weather forecast looks good for a full day's play. Injuries - Fraine replaces Malan, Revis replaces Rauf. Some of the youngsters are getting a chance to stake their claim for a regular place in the first team, so let's hope that they make the most of the opportunity. Warks won the toss and decided to bat first.

Lunch : Warks 58-4. A good session for Yorkshire despite yet more dropped catches. Root did well to take one when Duke dived across him though. Two wickets for Patterson.

Tea : Warks 166-7. (Lamb 45) Burgess 38 n.o., McAndrew 3 n.o . Fairly even session, but Yorks still on top overall . Two wickets each now for Thompson, Patterson and Revis.

Update : Warks 244 all out (Burgess 96). Best Yorkshire bowlers were Patterson with 3-34 and Thompson, 3-74. Without our main bowlers, the opposition tail-enders proved difficult to shift (as usual). Would have settled for Warks scoring 244 at the start though.

Close : Yorkshire 28-0. Lyth 7 n.o. Hill 21 n.o. Quite a good day for Yorkshire.

Seem to be a lot of draws this season and no one really getting away. If we can win this one it would leave us nicely placed.

Day Two

Weather forecast is cloudy with possible light rain. Started on time . Not ideal batting conditions.

Update : Yorkshire 61-1 (Hill 25) Lyth 16 n.o., Fraine 16 n.o.. No play at the moment due to rain. Early lunch taken.

Tea : Yorkshire 167-3. (Fraine 31) Lyth 69 n.o., Brook 30 n.o. Partnership over fifty now. Two wickets so far for H. Brookes.

Update : Yorkshire 222-3 now. Fifty up for Brook and 100 partnership.(y)

Close : Yorkshire 269-4. (Brook 82) . Lyth 118 n.o., Duke 1 n.o. Yorkshire 25 runs ahead now. Rained off for the day.

Good day for Yorkshire, despite the weather.

Mike, will Brook and Root miss any County Championship games with England selection?

Root will miss some games later as he is an automatic England starter. Not sure if Brook will actually be in the England starting eleven, so may get released to play for Yorkshire. There is a break in the County Championship fixtures after the current game anyway.

Day Three

Looks like better weather in L:eeds today. Extra overs today to make up for time lost yesterday due to rain, so times of Lunch / Tea / Close of play will be adjusted.

Lunch - Yorkshire 369-7. (Lyth 145). Duke 40 n.o., Revis 10 n.o. Quite a good session for Yorkshire, not taking risks and tryig to build the lead. Great effort by Lyth in far from ideal batting conditions.

Update : Yorkshire 450 all out (Duke 48) Useful last wicket stand of 58 between Patterson (19) and Revis ( 53 n.o.). Best Warks bowler was McAndrew with 4-116.

Tea : Warks 2nd inns 20-2 (Davies 8, Yates 1) Sibley 11 n.o. Both wickets for Thompson. Good afternoon session for Yorkshire with bat and ball.

Close : Warks 2nd inns 57-3. Only one more wicket for Yorkshire in the evening session as Warks decided to block. Thompson has taken all three wickets in the second innings ,with 3-19 so far.

Day Four

Looks like Warks will try to block all day - good luck to the Yorkshire lads in prising them out.

Close of play : Warks 2nd inns 252-3 . Hain 109 n.o, Rhodes 111 n.o. Disappointingly, Yorkshire failed to take any wickets on Day Four. Best Yorkshire bowler was Thompson with 3-54.

Match drawn.
