Played the full 90+ minutes on Saturday, if only he could he could manage that more often.

It would be interesting to know how many minutes in those 99.
But good to see Teddy complete an effective 90+ minutes yesterday in as tough a game as there will be in this league, can he now repeat that?

Sorry G, I don’t see it mate, at least not consistently. The odd glimpse occasionally, but thought he was pretty anonymous again on Saturday …. a positive that he finally completed a full 90 (or is it 100 these days) mins.

City have played 146 games in that time, so he has participated in around two thirds of the total available.
The problem is, Saturday was only the 14th game he has started and finished for us.
By contrast, Ethan Hamilton has started and finished 25 already.

Obviously depends on budgets, other players available etc. but if you accept him for what he is then I think he can have a place in the squad. He can still have an influence playing for 30 minutes off the bench and starting 1 in 4 games say. As long as that’s planned for and squad caters for that can still play a part for me.
For me - a player that we’ve never used properly. He’s not comfortable turning on the ball like Grant was so shouldn’t be playing deeper.
He should be the water carrier centrally to get the team up the pitch. Either as a no.10 or 8 with 2 more freedom to attack as part of 3 CM’s. Teams panic when he’s running at them and this is when he’s at his best. Running halfway line forwards and able to find neat passes through lines. 1 of the best in the league when doing that and we don’t know what we’re doing if we question renewing his contract.
When we play him defensively - I want to put my head through a brick wall from the negativity.

I think there is a bit of truth at both ends of the spectrum....
Yes he is not a run all day super athlete for sure but most of the time he has been here...
...running power to defend, rather than ability on the ball was the more important thing.
Max Sanders and Matt Virtue haven't got anywhere near his ability but started loads of games infront of Bishop.
...and often when he started taken off after 70 minutes for someone else to chase after the opposition a bit harder.
If he does have an injury free run to the end of the season, he might play a few more 90minutes under Skubala.

Up to now perhaps he has become programmed in his own head that he cannot play a full part in matches and does not have the self belief that he can do it.
Hopefully a run of matches playing the full ninety plus minutes might restore his self confidence and we can see the player that he can be.

While I would like Teddy to get fully fit and be the player he was signed to be, I just can't recall an important game where he has started and has been influential.
To me, his best performances have been off the bench.
Whether that has been due to not being able to stay fit long enough to have a run of starting games and have an influence, I don't know.
It is definitely going to be interesting when Danny is back and if we sign another midfielder. There is are three midfield spots going, assuming we play a similar style to the Derby game, but the two Ethans have to be first choice to two of those I would have thought.

Bishop will be 28 next season and should now be at the peak of his career.
Undoubtedly a talented footballer.....when fully fit but its always seemed like he's been injured or always working his way back from injury and not being able to play 90 minutes so we haven't really seen the best of him on a consistant basis.
I have said that he should be released at the end of his contract, not because I don't think he is a good player but purely for the fact he hasn't been available to play enough and he is on a good wage that could go to a player who doesn't have the injury problems he has had, although I do except there are no guarantees on that front.
We'll have to see how things pan out in the next few weeks regarding him and Mandroiu. I don't think you could play both of them in the same starting eleven so they will provide competition for each other and we'll see if one can stay fit and one can come back with an refreshed attitude and see what happens from there.

It's weird... The appearance stats on the Wikipedia page (which has mostly been maintained by a user called Lincoln Owl) are sourced from https://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=77159.
Soccerbase has Bishop at 99 Lincoln appearances in all competitions. The mismatch appears to be in league games this year. Bishop has played in the league 21 times this season according to Soccerbase - the wiki page has 20. The wiki page was last updated straight after the Derby game, so it's not out of date.
Inspecting the edit history, it looks like Lincoln Owl forgot to add the replayed Leyton Orient game on 21st November. Bishop played his 11th league game against Fleetwood on 21st October, his 12th league game against Leyton Orient on 21st November, and his 13th league game against Barnsley on 25th November. The wiki edit on 25th November updates league appearances this season from 11 to 12.
Lincoln Owl has just been adding appearances one game at a time rather than referring to the running total on the source.

I've taken as a starting point the stats in the recently-published Official Annual which gives his total appearances up to and including the match on 11th November v Port Vale as 88. Adding on his appearances since then, taken from the match details on the official website, I make that he is currently on 98.
How accurate these two sources are I don't know.
