10 games in. What’s the verdict?

Vital Reserves Team
So we reach October, 2 months into the season and the fabled ‘judge the team and manager’ moment after 10 games.

Fair to say I think we are all pretty disappointed given expectations after probably the biggest spending on players in recent times (if not in club history).

For me Bruce has completely lost the plot despite Sadler’s backing. Tactics and team selection especially given the players who have come in have been sadly lacking. That said some of the recruitment has been questionable (and Bruce must have been part of that).

I also think some of the players look unfit and at times disinterested. Levels of fitness (or lack of) has been mentioned by fans at other clubs Bruce has managed. Does that explain the high number of (serious) injuries we keep getting?

It might be wrong to single out individuals but we undoubtedly have players who should, at League 1 level, be pushing us towards promotion. The only reason we have started so badly really is down to one person. And that is Bruce.

The 2 nil lead against Luton was a flook and going on to draw summed up where we are. The football has been dreadful, we are easy to beat, are consistently chasing shadows with little possession and our away form is non existent.

It is difficult to see things turning around even if we beat Wimbledon. It’s time for a change and Sadler has to do it now before the situation capitulates further and we are well and truly in a relegation battle.

Agree with 100% of that statement. With the money spent we should already be up there but sadly Bruce (and I do respect him) has fallen behind the times with his formations and his tactics. Time for a fresh approach before we're nailed on relegation favourites.

I think thats half the problem Bob, Bruce is a likeable bloke and Sadlers' wanting to give him every opportunity.
Stats dont lie, since 01 Jan this yr we have been bottom.half of the table form.
8% chance of making top 6 and that lowers with every passing game.
Quitchley slaughtered for 3 5 2, now everyone's screaming out for it.
Bruce is too rigid, 4 4 2 and nothing else.
Run 'em round the pitch in the Spanish sun, twice a day.
You can picture him now "if it was good enough for Fergie, back in my day , blah blah....

Where was he on Wed after that 💩?
At Old Tradford working on his l'egends' role'.
he should of been sat infront of a tv screen with his coaches, onĵ

It needs a forward thinking man, who can adapt to enable us to be at our best for the opposition
At least Quitchley had us prepped well.

Injuries have hit us, Bowler doesn't look comfortable, and the replacements available once you get past that best starting 11, are just not up to it.

Bruce's scorecard on this half term is 1/10 followed by a "see me".

No easy game today, conditions wont help us for starters and Stockporr away next Sat...

Time for him to go.

Agree with everything you have all said.

I’m astounded he’s still here.

As I’ve just said on a previous thread I don’t see us getting a win today which should see him gone but it probably will not.

We have some decent players. We are in a relegation struggle. Something needs to change. I reckon the Manager won't change so let's change the manager.
