Lakespool
Vital Reserves Team
So we reach October, 2 months into the season and the fabled ‘judge the team and manager’ moment after 10 games.
Fair to say I think we are all pretty disappointed given expectations after probably the biggest spending on players in recent times (if not in club history).
For me Bruce has completely lost the plot despite Sadler’s backing. Tactics and team selection especially given the players who have come in have been sadly lacking. That said some of the recruitment has been questionable (and Bruce must have been part of that).
I also think some of the players look unfit and at times disinterested. Levels of fitness (or lack of) has been mentioned by fans at other clubs Bruce has managed. Does that explain the high number of (serious) injuries we keep getting?
It might be wrong to single out individuals but we undoubtedly have players who should, at League 1 level, be pushing us towards promotion. The only reason we have started so badly really is down to one person. And that is Bruce.
The 2 nil lead against Luton was a flook and going on to draw summed up where we are. The football has been dreadful, we are easy to beat, are consistently chasing shadows with little possession and our away form is non existent.
It is difficult to see things turning around even if we beat Wimbledon. It’s time for a change and Sadler has to do it now before the situation capitulates further and we are well and truly in a relegation battle.
