what's the use of an apology?

How many apologies have we had ? Is it just the one, or have we had more than that ?

    General Football thread

When you consider the quality of the players at Leeds, Leicester and Southampton last season, compared to Luton, Burnley and Sheff Utd, we do seem to have gone backwards.

    Game week 34

I've said it before , but some of the players seem to know less about football than I do ! When three strikers (Liniker, Wright, Shearer) can't see that a Wolves player standing in front of the keeper (v West Ham) is interfering with the keepers view, there's no hope.

I guess it's easier to shrug off bad decisions when you're nearly twenty points clear of relegation !

    Game week 34

We have had numerous refs give very poor decisions against us, but to put a Luton fan in charge of VAR is just asking for trouble. The only end result though is we will end up with increasingly large fines.

    Game week 34

Our passing , as usual, is terrible, unless it's around the back four. Two or three passes and they're through to our back four. We just seem to end up knocking it backwards, or playing an easily cut-out through ball.

    Season Card Renewals........13%

I didn't say they can't do what they want, and I'm not being vitriolic, I'm just pointing out the facts. Football is very poor value for money even before the price increase. It relies on loyal fans. We have a vast pool of fans at the moment, so the club don't seem to value them. Get relegated...

    Season Tickets

This is from 2020-21 which implies there was a second period of sales. The first renewal period is open to current season card holders in the Trent End, Brian Clough Stand and Bridgford Stand. Supporters in those stands have until Monday 16th March to renew their season card for the 2020-21...

    Season Tickets

Forgot to mention that I don't see the timing of the season ticket sales as relevant to PSR. Assuming Forest are operating a proper accounting system, you are supposed to allocate income to the goods or relevant period that they refer to, so it should count as 2024/25 income whenever it's received.

    Season Tickets

From what I remember season tickets were normally sold after the end of the season, with, as you say, an early bird window. This stopped when we got promoted, when I was told I couldn't renew my Upper Trent season ticket. This was partly due to an increased number of away fans having to be...

    Season Card Renewals........13%

Forest are shooting themselves in the foot over this. There used to be an early window (reduced price) or an end of season window. Now there is no choice. We may be one of the cheaper clubs in the PL, but we could also be one of the most expensive in the Championship. Loyalty is one thing, but...

    FFP charges?

I did wonder if we could sell a player for £20 million to Olympiakos on the 30th June, then buy them back on the 1st July.............

    Hypothetical situation

I've not read the detail, but as you say, whilst most businesses do run up interest charges, if EM has enough liquid money it would make no sense to use up part of Forest's PSR allowance on interest, if he could have provided an interest free loan.

    Hypothetical situation

What do you believe the last two years PSR losses are ? Don't seem to be many sites with a breakdown of the losses, but I did manage to find this one, which has the same figures as Fulham Red. Forest’s PSR calculations showed losses of £3m for 2020/21, £40m in 2021/22 and £52m in 2022/23...

Yes, Everton proving tonight that having a game in hand isn't always an advantage.

    General Football thread

Yes, the first thing we need to do is make sure we don't let a bucketful of goals in, especially against Man City. We can't afford to lose our goal difference advantage. Assuming we don't fall to pieces in any game we are effectively one and a half points in front of Luton, so one more win for...

    Match Thread v Wolves

It was a brilliant goal, but the opportunity shouldn't have been there. Watching it on MOTD, Yates slowed down and rather than getting goal side of Cunha, seemed to be positioning himself to cut off the pass, except none of the other Wolves players had bothered running up the pitch. Then Yates...
